December 17

Thank you for another fantastic weekend at Hardtailz! We had a blast and it was good to see so many of our friends. Big thanks to Steve Favela and Marty the Party for getting up on stage with us and tearing the room up. This weekend we head back to our favorite club… THE BLOOZE!!! This is our annual Christmas Party and we thought we would take it home this year! Bloze has always been very good to us and the staff absolutely rocks. We hear Tumbleweed is going to be getting up with us and blowing some harp as well. You never know who else will be stopping by to rock out with us as well. They have the coldest, cheapest beer in town and a great intimate venue for live rock & roll. The Blooze is located on the Southwest corner of 32 nd Street & Cactus and the show starts at 9:30pm. We will be back at Hardtailz on New Years Eve, so make your plans now and get there early for the good seats. It promises to be a Rockin Good Time!!!

December 10

We are ready to go back to work! We haven't played in a few weeks and are really looking forward to heading out to Hardtailz this weekend. We will be celebrating Charlie's Birthday and would appreciate you all coming out to party with the old man! Hardtailz is a great room to see band in, plus they have a great staff and have some pretty good food as well. Hardtilz is located on the Southwest corner of ....Bell Rd.... & 35 th Ave. We always have a great time here and look forward to seeing everyone this weekend!!! Next week we head back to Blooze. We haven't been there since September and are really looking forward to getting back to party with Tumbleweed and the crew. Blooze is like home to us in many ways! We have been playing there longer than other club we play at and we just always know it's going to be a blast anytime we play there. New Years Eve this year will be at Hardtailz so make your plans now and join us for our biggest party of the year!!!

November 25

We hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. We gathered at my house with a bunch of friends and had a great time. We are also enjoying some time off from gigs for a couple of weeks as well. But, we will be back at it next weekend, December 12 th & 13 th at Hardtailz! We always look forward to playing Hardtailz and know it's always going to be a party! We will also be there for New Years Eve this year as well. Will have one other show booked this month at The Blooze on December 20 th . We hope to see you at one of these shows before the end of the year!!!

November 18

We had another successful Angry Against Aids benefit show. All the bands were awesome and put on great shows. We want to thank all of you who came out to support this event and spent your money on a very worthy cause. We didn't make as much as past years, but we expected a drop off with the economy the way it is. But that just shows that those of you who did come and donate, are really awesome we really do appreciate you! Thanks to the staff at Cactus Jacks and Kristen from Southwest Center for HIV/AiDS for all the help. We will be doing it again next year, but we will probably be moving it to the other side of town. This Saturday, we will be in Scottsdale at Flicka's Baja Cantina. The weather is perfect for this club. They have a huge patio and some really good food. We typically go on at 10:00pm here, so come early for dinner and stay for the entertainment. We don't have a lot of shows left through the end of the year, so check the schedule so you don't miss the opportunity to party with us!

November 3

We hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. We had a great party out at Hardtailz with lots of costumes and a great night of fun. We gave away prizes for the best costume and sexiest costume which wasn't an easy decision. We had a lot of great costumes to choose from. The pictures are up for you to check out. Saturday night was another fun night and we want to thank everyone who came out over the whole weekend! We are off this coming weekend, but we are also preparing for our 4 th Annual Angry Against AIDS benefit show at Cactus Jacks on November 15th . The doors will open at 1:00pm with a $5.00 cover. There will be six bands this year. We will be kicking off the day with Stone Groove (all teen band)at 2:30pm and I will be singing a few songs with them. Then we have Soul Doctor (members of Dr Ruth), Strangeland, Angry Jon, Rock Addix and Chuck Hall to end the night. Larry the Light Guy will also be on scene providing a kick ass light show. This is a great line-up and a day not to be missed. There will also be some great raffle items and food specials as well. Please come out see one band or all of the bands. We just really appreciate your support for this event! All money raised will go to the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.

October 24

We want to send out a huge thanks to Steve and Bruce who came out and filled in on guitar this past weekend at O'Kelley's. They did a kick ass job and we had a blast playing with them. We also want to thank those of you who came out to the show and wish a BIG Happy Birthday to one of our favorite ladies Tina!!! The staff was great and we had a blast! This weekend Harley will be back just in time for our annual Halloween Costume Party! This year we will be playing at Hardtailz and we are really looking forward to it! Friday night wear your costume for our costume contest and you just might win prizes. Even if you don't, it's just fun to dress up and act goofy!!! We will be playing Saturday night as well, but we will be back to our regular clothes. Come out and join in the fun. We also want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and please be careful as you walk the kiddies and around and especially if you are driving anywhere. They do have some of the new cameras up on the freeways now. You can actually see where in my thought of the week on the website!!!

October 17

We have some sad news to share this week. Will has decided to leave the band to pursue other musical ventures. He will be missed and we want to THANK him for everything he has done during his time in the band. We wish him nothing but the best! This Friday, we will be playing at O'Kelley's in Mesa. Harley is out of town, so we have Bruce from Phat Bastard and Rue Morgue and Steve from The Cover Junkies and Egomaniacs filling in on guitar. It should be a great party and we hope to see you all out this weekend to party like Angry Rock Starz!!! We have some really cool shows coming up soon for you as well. We have our Halloween Costume party at Hardtailz on Halloween and our big Angry Against Aids benefit show coming up on November 15 th at O'Kelley's. We have some great bands lined up for you and this year we will only be charging a $5.00 cover to get in. We will also be having some great raffle prizes as well.

October 8

I'm sorry I didn't update any news last week. I was just a crazy week for me with my daughters wedding and my other daughter moving in with me. We did play a private party this past weekend that was awesome. Happy Birthday to Alyn and thanks to Eric and Shannan for showing us another great time! (Eric, I don't even drink Jager like that!!!) We had a blast with everyone there and appreciate the extra donation for our charity! This weekend we are back at it n the east valley. On Friday night we will be terrorizing Ahwatukee at Cactus Jacks! On Saturday we will be moving the party over to the Planet Chandler for a show at Famous Sams. We hope to see all of our east valley supporters this weekend. You get two great clubs to choose from, so pick your poison and we shall see you this weekend!! We have more great shows coming up this month as well. We will be at Flicka's in Scottsdale and O'Kelley's in Mesa in the next couple of weeks. We are also holding our Halloween Party at Hardtailz this year, so make your plans now!!!

October 1

The Octane Lounge rocked once again! Thanks to everyone who came out. The staff was awesome once again and we had a lot of fun with both crowds. It was our second show with Harley and over the two night's we were there, we made a lot of progress in tightening things up after his addition. We are really looking forward to what we can do with this line-up. We will be adding news songs here very soon, so keep an ear out for that! We will be off this weekend. I will be in California giving my daughter away at her wedding (OUUUUUUCCCCHHHHH), while the guys are here getting together for some rehearsal. We will be back in action on October 10 th at Cactus Jacks! In October, we will also be holding our annual Angry Against AIDS Golf tournament on October 18 th at The Ahwatukee Lakes Gold Club. Please contact me if you would like to sing up to play. The entry fee will be $60.00 and that will include two drink tickets, longest drive and the longest putt. It will be a two man best ball, with a shotgun start at 11:00am. We had a blast last year and hope to have a bigger turn out this year.

September 16

Thanks to all of you who came out to celebrate my birthday! It was very much appreciated and I had such a great time. The crowd was great and it was great seeing so many friends. The staff at Blooze was once again, just awesome! Thanks to all the special guests who played with us and everyone else who made it a great 40 th birthday! We think we may be back at Blooze one more time before the end of the year, so keep an eye on the schedule. This weekend we trek out to Surprise to play The Octane Lounge. Always a great time at a kick ass club. Sterling and the staff really know how to take care of people and make the long drive well worth it! The Octane Lounge is located on Bell Rd , just East of Grand Ave. You gotta love their motto as well… F#%K SCOTTSDALE. We will be holding our Angry Against AIDS Golf Tournament on October 18 th at The Ahwatukee Country Club. It looks like it will be $60.00 to enter and we are hoping for a bigger turnout then last year. Spread the word and just e-mail me or see Joey at Cactus Jacks to sign up.

September 9

Well, the weekend off was very nice and we got a lot done. It's still not as fun as entertaining all of you, but it is nice once in awhile. This coming Friday is a BIGGIE!!! We will be celebrating my 40 th Birthday at The Blooze! I believe this the 6 th year in a row I will be celebrating my birthday there. It has become somewhat of a tradition so why mess with tradition. The only difference this year is that we will only be playing one night instead of two. Not only are we celebrating my birthday, we will also be debuting the newly re-vamped line-up! Not only is Charlie back with us, but so is Harley. Will is not leaving the band, we are just adding Harley. I truly feel like we now have two of the best guitar players in the valley. We are going to be adding new songs soon that we couldn't do before and will have that bigger, two guitar sound! Plus we are adding another vocal to the band. We are very excited about what the future holds for this band. So, come out this Friday and watch as I slide into middle age and check out the New Angry Jon Band!!! I would suggest getting there early because this is lining up to a big night!

September 2

O'Kelley's was a damn good night for it being Labor Day Weekend! Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a bit up and down throughout the night, but everyone had a good time and that's the only thing that really matters to us. We will be back there soon. Our West-side Aids benefit at Hardtailz went really, really well. There are so many people to thank that I'm sure some will get missed, but hopefully you know who you are. First of all… A huge thank you to all the bands and musicians that donated their time and talent. The music was really great all day and all the bands put on a great show. Thank you to Eden and her kids for helping out running the raffle. We couldn't have made any money with them. Hardtailz staff was awesome and did a great job with getting items to raffle and keeping on top of the crowd all day and night. But, the biggest thanks goes to those of you who came out in support and donated to the cause. We raised almost $1400.00 that I will be purchasing various items to be taken to the Phoenix Children's Hospital for HIV/AIDS patients there. For a benefit show that was basically put together in a week and a half, I'd say it was a complete success. We may just haveto do it again there next year. We are off this weekend, but will be at it again on September 12 th at the Blooze. We will be celebrating Jon's 40 th birthday for the 7 th year in a row at Blooze! We will also be debuting our new, revamped line-up. We were going to keep it a secret, but we aren't very good with secrets. As you all know, Charlie is recently back as our drummer. We have another blast from the past, re-joining the band. Harley Harkins is back on guitar. No… Will hasn't gone anywhere, we are adding Harley. I truly believe we now have two of the most talented guitar players in the valley and we are looking forward to what we will be able to do with both these guys! So, you have two great reasons to head out to Blooze on the 12 th!!

August 26

It really is amazing to me that we just never, ever have a bad show at Hardtailz. This place just always rocks for us! Thanks to the staff for once again just being awesome! Thanks to all the guest musicians (there were just too many to name) who came out and jammed with us! We had to awesome nights and you people flat out rocked! Happy Birthday to Eden and her mom Carmen, two of my favorite ladies in this world! Our next full gig there will be Halloween weekend! There will be a costume contest and too much fun to be had in one evening! This Friday, we are at O'Kelley's in mesa. This is a really great club and we always enjoy playing here. They have really good food as well, so you can come early for dinner and stay for the band! They are located on Guadalupe, just west of Dobson Road. Ever since we started having our Aids benefit every year, our west-side people have complained that we do it in the east valley. So, we have decided to an extra one just for our west side peeps! This Sunday, August 31 st at Hardtailz, we will be having Angry Against Aids The West-Side Pre-Benefit Benefit Show!!! There will be no cover, but we will be looking for donations for the charity. We will be holding some raffles and other things to help you give up your cash for a great cause. All proceeds will benefit the South West Center for HIV/AIDS. We all have Monday off for Labor Day, so it's the perfect time to party!!! We have 5 bands for you… Angry Jon, The Egomaniacs, Cover Junkies, Rue Morgue and Harry Brown. We also know that there will be other special guest musicians as well. We will be starting at 2:00pm with the first band at 4:00pm. Please come out and help support our cause and get a full day of great entertainment!!! Hardtailz is located on the SW corner of Bell road and 35 th Ave.

August 19

It had been awhile, but we did get back to Famous Sam's this past Friday. We have only played there a couple of times, but we really like the place. There is a great atmosphere and the staff is really good as well. It wasn't packed, but it was a good night. It was Charlie's first night back with us and Harley was filling in on guitar for Will, but everyone told us that they really enjoyed the show and were glad to see those guys playing with us. Thanks to Mike (MGM) and Anita (Jagged) for coming out and singing a couple of tunes with us as well. Also… Big thanks to Harley for filling in!!! This weekend we head back to our favorite club these days… HARDTAILZ!!!! This place just flat out rocks and we love playing here. We will be playing some songs that you haven't heard from us in a long time and we will also have our full light show for this one!!! The crowds at Hardtailz are always ready to party and we sure this weekend will be no different! You will want to get there early to get good seats. They also have some pretty good as well. Hardtailz is located on the Southwest corner of Bell & 35 th Ave. A quick reminder… We will be at The Blooze on September 12 th to celebrate Jon's birthday! This will be the 7 th year of Jon celebrating his B-DAY there and this one will be his 40 TH !!!! Make your plans now, it's going to be a blow out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

August 12

The Octane Lounge was once again very very good to us! The crowds were awesome and were definitely in a party mood. Happy Birthday goes out to Rick & Brian who work there and partied with us all weekend. A big thanks to the staff that is always on the ball and always looks hot, hot, hot! We will be rocking Surprise again next month. This weekend we will be back at Famous Sam in Chandler! It's been awhile since we have been here and we are really looking forward to rocking the house this Friday night. Will is taking the night off, so our ex-guitar player Harley Harkins will be filling in for the night and are really looking forward to jamming with him again! Famous Sam's is located on the Southwest corner of Alma School and Ray Road. We have a bit of sad news to report as well… Our drummer, Mike Adams has decided to move on to concentrate on his other music project “Machine Gun Minky”, where Mike will be fronting the band. We wish Mike a lot of luck in this endeavor and are sure it will be show worth seeing. He will be out with them sometime after the first of the year! We want to say a big THANKS to Mike for everything he has done for and with the band during the last year he has been with us. We love you brother and you are welcome on our stage anytime! On a bit of a positive note… Mike's replacement is going to be none other than Mr. Charlie Sutter! It's actually weird how the timing worked out for Charlie to come back. We are looking forward to working with Charlie again, which actually starts with the show this weekend at Famous Sams. Let's make Charlie's first show back a big one!

August 5

We had Friday night off and hung out with some good friends. Saturday we played headed to Scottsdale and played Flicka's Baja Cantina. Other than it being a bit too warm inside, the place rocked. We had a great crowd who al seemed ready to party! Thanks to the Pacifico girls for brightening the evening as well. Thanks to Harley and Dave for getting up and Jamming with us. The staff was awesome and we had a blast. We have a few more shows booked at Flicka's this year, so come check it out next time. They have great food and a killer patio. This weekend we head waaaaaaaaaay west to The Octane Lounge! It's been a couple of month's since our last trip here, but it's always worth the drive. The staff is hot, hot, hotttt! They have good drink prices and the atmosphere is always very cool. It's always a party at The Octane so come and se why!!!!!!!! The Octane is located on Bell Rd just east of Grand Ave. right next door the huge U-Haul building.

July 29

I think we just might start playing at Hardtailz every weekend! Another weekend, another huge party! Friday started out a little bit slow, but turned around very quickly. Saturday started out busy and turned into packed! Thanks to all our friends who came out, the birthday parties, all the dunks and especially the staff that took such a great job of everyone. We will back there next month for another amazing weekend! This Saturday we invade Scottsdale and play at Flicka's! This is a great room with a huge patio and really really good food! Being that it is a big room, we need your bodies to help fill it! Come out and party with us and show Scottsdale what a real Rock & Roll band sounds like! Flicka's is located on Scottsdale Rd , just North of McDowell. We have the big Angry Against AIDS benefit coming up in October and The golf tournament coming up in September. Keep an eye out for more information on both of those events. We will also be looking for individuals or businesses to make donations (gift certificates for hotels, restaurants, stores. Sports and Rock collectibles, and so on and so forth of things that we can include in our raffles. This is the biggest way for us to raise money and we could use your help in gather some really cool swag to raffle off. If you have anything that you want to donate, contact me at angryjon1@yahoo.com

July 22

Well, Cactus Jacks wasn't exactly a smashing success. It started out pretty good and everyone seemed to be in a rocking mood, but it thinned out fairly quickly. We were fighting Ufest and the opening weekend of the Dark Knight, but it was really slow. Thanks to those of you who did come out! (By the way… The Dark Night Batman movies kicks serious ass!) We had a private party on Saturday. We got there about 6:00pm to set up and pretty much took up the whole living room. There were quite a few people there and everyone was ready for a rocking good time! It was a blast!!!! Big thanks to Shannon and the B-day boy Eric for having us over for a very cool party! They even said we could post some pics on the website.
This weekend we head back to Hardtailz… WOO HOO!!!!!!! We love this bar and this bar loves us. We always have such a good time when we play here. We always look forward to our Hardtailz weekends! The crowds never disappoint and the staff is always on the ball! We play both nights and start at 9:30pm, so get there early for good seats and get ready for a rock & roll party as we bring the full light show as well with Larry the Light Guy!

July 15

Friday night started out pretty slow at O'Kelley's, but picked up speed fairly quickly. We ended up with a really good crowd and the place rocked all night long. Thanks to Jilly and the staff for a great night. Saturday night just flat out rocked at Club Red! We took the main stage at 9:00pm and within no time, we had a big crowd in front of us and they were ready to rock. We played for an hour and a half to a very fun crowd. It was cool to see so many friends and we made quite a few new ones as well. Corooked Head Annie went on after us and kicked ass. The Egomaniacs took the stage after that and the night was a complete success! On the Red Owl side, we had Stone Groove who put on a great show and also Wall Street who never disappoint. It was a complete night of some great Rock & Roll music! Thanks to everyone who had to put up with the way too hot and humid temperatures in the building. It was the only downer of the night. The next time we will be visiting Club Red will be for our Angry Against AIDS benefit show. Keep an eye out for the list of bands that will playing that day. It's going to be a crammed packed day of music for sure! This weekend, we will be playing at Cactus Jacks in Ahwatukee. We always have a great time here and the staff is always top notch. It's our only show this weekend and we won't be back to the east valley for a few weeks, so we hope to see you all there!!!

July 8

We hope everyone had a relaxing & Safe 4th of July! We had the weekend off and we all enjoyed our time with friends and family. This weekend we have some great shows planned for you! I put this show together with the hope that we could pull a bunch of people together to check out a bunch of great bands! We have five bands playing two stages. June 24

We had the night off on Friday, so we had a band meeting and then we went out to a couple of clubs and just hang out. We don't get that opportunity very often and was a lot of fun. On Saturday, we played at The Detour. We had a pretty rough go at it with an amp blowing and Mike breaking a drumhead, but everyone was really cool about it. We had a good crowd that stuck with us through the problems A big thank you for that!!! Thanks also to Eric for loaning us the bars amp and the staff for helping to keep spirits up through the rough spots. This weekend we head out to The Blooze. On Friday night, The Egomaniacs will be playing the first set, and then we will take over for the rest of the night. On Saturday, Harley and Charlie will be down to play a few songs with us as well. There will be a $5.00 cover, but it's going to be one kick ass night of music. See the website or MySpace for information on all of our upcoming shows!

June 17

I had an amazing weekend. I got to see my last daughter graduate high school and she even won a small scholarship to continue her education. It's pretty gratifying to know that in this day and age, that all four of my girls have now cleared the first major hurdle in life. I know a lot of parents who struggle to get their kids thru high school and my youngest not only finished but will be graduating from cosmetology school in a month. She did both schools at the same time. I'm very proud! I also got to see and spend a lot of time with my grandkids for four days and we had a blast together. My one year old grandson brought me breakfast in bed every morning which basically consisted of shoving a pop tart in my open mouth while I was still asleep. This Saturday we get back to work at The Detour in Chandler . This has been a fun club for us and we are looking forward to the show this week. I do recommend that if you want a good seat that you go early. It's a smaller club and they do serve some really good food so you can come early for dinner and stay for the show. They are located on Chandler Blvd , between Kyrene and the I-10. Next weekend we head back out to Blooze where we have a couple special guests that will be playing with us. We don't have many shows booked at Blooze this year, so take advantage next weekend!!!

June 10

When we pick up a last minute gig, it's hard to tell what to expect. Well, Cactus Jacks really came thru! The place was busy all night and there was a great atmosphere all night. We had a blast and really appreciated the turn out. Saturday night we finally got back to Flicka's. It started out a bit slow and we were wondering what was going on, but then we realized the patio out front was packed. It was a very nice evening and everyone seemed to enjoy the show. We saw a lot of friends and appreciated the support. We will be playing both clubs again in the near future. This weekend we will be off. I am heading out to California to see my youngest daughter graduate High School and spend some time with the grand babies and daughters. We will be back in action the following Saturday, June 21st at The Detour. We will also be playing at the Blooze at the end of the month and we will be having some of our ex-members back that weekend to make some new memories!

June 3

Hardtailz did us proud once again! We had a great weekend and such a good time. It's amazing to me how this club always comes thru for us. We saw a lot of friends and made a few new ones as well. Big thanks to Marty from Contraband for sing a couple of tunes with us and not falling down while he did it! (he had a couple of drinks) Also, Larry who is Contrabands new bass player played a song as well. We have wrapped booking for Hardtailz thru the rest of the year and we will be there for Halloween this year! A big thanks to the staff for once again, doing an outstanding job. This weekend we will be at two clubs. Just a few days ago, we picked up a gig at Cactus Jacks for this Friday night. We were happy to do it since we always have a great time there. Saturday night we are finally getting back to Flicka's in Scottsdale . It's been a few month's and we are stoked to be getting back there. That show will start at 9:00pm. They have great food and a huge patio. We hope to see you at one of these shows this weekend!

May 28

We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. We played at O'Kelley's this past Friday and had a great time. We heard a lot of the bars were slow that night, and while we weren't busting at the seems, we did have a great crowd. We celebrated Mike's birthday and he managed to stagger out of the bar at the end of the night instead of crawling. Our friends, Steve from the Cover Junkies and Piro from Mr Hyde were in the house and played a couple of tunes with us. We got some really great compliments from the staff and owner and we are looking forward to coming back there soon. This weekend we head out to Hardtialz and we are stoked to be back! Hardtailz is always a rocking good time and we just never have bad nights there. We will have Larry the Light guy bringing his light show for the full concert effect and of course we never know what special guests will be dropping by to Jam. Hardtailz is located on Bell rd and 35 th Ave and it is always a party!!!

May 21

This past weekend at The Detour was as blast! For a small club, they know how to party! Thanks to Harley for coming out and doing a couple songs on Friday and Anita and Bob for throwing a couple down with us on Saturday night. A big thanks to the staff and management for treating us so well! They have been doing some re-modeling and the place is really looking great. They will also give you a ride to and from the bar if you live within ten miles. We will be back there soon, so come check it out with us! This weekend we will be at O'Kelley's on Friday night. We try not to play Memorial Day weekend, but it's Mike's birthday and he asked if we could. They have also been re-modeling and the place has really changed. The have a full menu and the staff is awesome. So come kick off your holiday weekend with us in Mesa at O'Kelley's!!!

May 14

The Octane Lounge was burning this past weekend. We had two great nights at a very cool place. It makes it so much easier to entertain when the crowd is really into what you are doing. Congrats to the bachelor that came out and we got drunk in about 20 minutes! WhooHoo! The staff was awesome once again and we are looking forward to getting out the The Octane again! This weekend we head out to Chandler to play The Detour! We have played there once and this place is really cool. We will be there both Friday & Saturday nights and are looking forward to rocking the house. It's on the smaller side, but they have some great food, the offer free rides to those who live within 10 miles of the joint and they just expanded their smoking patio. We expect this to be a great weekend for us! The Detour is located on Chandler Blvd about 2 miles west of Kyrene Rd and about 4 miles east of the I-10! We hope to see you there!!!

May 7

Cinco De Mayo… It's not even a real holiday in Mexico, but it is a reason to drink! Our weekend at Pepper's was another great one! They are in the middle of re-modeling, but they are making some really cool changes. The new stage was a little hard to get used to, but I think it's going to work out really well. Thanks to the staff who were really really good to us, and thank you to all those who came out! Our buddy Piro from Mr Hyde got up for a couple of songs and really kicked ass! We will be back there soon! This weekend, we will be out in Surprise at The Octane Lounge! This is always a great gig for us. The staff is amazing and super hot!!! They have great shot specials and the vibe is always very cool! We know it's a long drive for a lot of you, and I say this all the time, but it really is a great bar! Come see why we love The Octane Lounge!!! As always… Keep an eye on the schedule for all up coming shows. We have some really cool events, including an Angry Jon reunion show at Blooze in June. We will be bringing a few of our ex-members back for two nights of memories and killer rock! These will be two shows not to be missed!

April 30

That was a GREAT time!!! If you weren't at The Blooze this past weekend, you missed a coupe of great parties! Friday night started off with us hitting the stage for a few songs. At the end of our set, our friend Anita of Snapt got up and sang a few songs. Her band had some complications, so they couldn't make it, but she did a great job. Next, we had the guys from new band Rue Morgue get up and rock the house for a set. They did this last minute and we really appreciated them stepping up the way they did. We finished Friday night out with Harley and Charlie joining Ed and myself for the sorta debut of "Skin the Grinch". We will be hitting the clubs in a few months with this project and it will be all different stuff than Angry Jon plays. Tumbleweed rocked a couple with us as well. On Saturday night, the house got packed early. Angry Jon started the night off once again and then made way for new band "Rock Addix". These guys were great! They tore it up and everyone really liked them. They will be playing gigs in the very near future and I would suggest you check them out. After they finished up, we brought back the Egomaniacs for another show. We got a great reception and it was a lot of fun playing with those guys again. We may even do a couple more shows in the future. Thanks to Will, Ed and Mike for letting all the musicians use their gear for the weekend! Thanks to the awesome staff at the Blooze for once again taking great care of us! We will be back at Blooze in June for another Angry Jon reunion show. This weekend we head east to Peppers in Mesa. Fast becoming one of our favorite places to play, Peppers is starting to be an east valley home for us. The staff is great and they also have really good food. We hit the stage at 9:30 and will be there both Friday & Saturday nights. Come out and let's show Mesa what it's like when the Angry Nation rolls into town!

April 23

Friday night at cactus was definitely a party. Thanks to everyone who came down. I didn't get a lot of pictures, but there will be a few up. It was good to see a bunch of our friends and make a few new ones as well. The staff was awesome and we really appreciate all the compliments we got that night. This coming weekend is going to be off the hook fun!!! Not only are we back at Blooze, but we are bringing friends as well. Angry Jon & Friends is back baby and we have quite a line up ready to rock you all weekend. Angry jon will be playing of course, but check this out… Friday night we will be sharing the stage with new band “BONEFLY”, featuring Bruce and Duane of Phat Bastard, Eric of The Wett and Randy from Noize Bone. Danny Wexler should be stopping by that night as well as Anita from Jagged. Former Angry Jon'ers Harley and Charlie will play the night out along with Jon and Ed. Saturday night just gets better… We will be sharing the stage with new band “ROCK ADDIX” featuring ex members of Sylence, Lost Dog and Whisper Alley. The big surprise of the night will be the reunion of the “EGOMANIACS”! You remember mine and Ed's side project from a few years back that we did with Steve from the Cover Junkies, John from Rock Addix and Mike from Innuendo? Well, we are getting back together for one night. We will also have special guest singer Norm of Rukkus, Super Hero & Dr Ruth fame, coming down to sing a few as well. This is going to be a huge weekend and not to be missed!!!!

April 17

I don't know why I don't ever look at the schedule to see when Nascar is in town. I don't understand why it should affect our crowds, but it always does somehow. It probably didn't help that we were playing a club 30 miles from the track either. The Octane still rocked though. We still had good crowds and the placed rocked for sure. A big thanks to the staff whom once again was on their game and did a fantastic job. (And they are all smoking hot!) We did meet some new friends this weekend that were very positive and wanted to see more of us. We will be back there next month. This weekend we will be at Cactus Jacks Friday night. We haven't been here in a couple of months and are looking forward to getting back and seeing our Ahwatukee friends. We always seem to have a party at Cactus and we are sure this Friday won't be any different. This Saturday we were supposed to be playing at Flicka's, but because of a scheduling issue, we won't be there. We did re-schedule a date for June though. Next weekend is going to be a huge party for sure! We will be back at Blooze and we will be having another Angry Jon & Friends weekend. You will still get us both nights, but on Friday we have new band SNAPT, featuring Anita from Jagged. We will also be having special guest Danny Wexler (Icon) and a few other surprises as well. On Saturday night we will be debuting new band ROCK ADDIX featuring former members of Sylence, Lost Dog and Whisper Alley. Some of you may remember Ed and mine side project, The Egomaniacs. We will be having a little reunion with that band as well. Myself and Ed, Steve of the Cover Junkies (ex-Whisper Alley), Mike of The Cradle Robbers (ex- Innuendo) and John of Rock Addix (ex-Lost Dog and Throttle). I believe Norm (Rukkus, Super Hero, Dr Ruth) will be coming down to lend some vocals as well. You also never know what other special guests will be dropping by. Come early for good seats!!!

April 10

HOT, HOT, HOT… Hardtailz Rocked! There really is nothing else I can say. The place was packed all weekend, the staff was awesome, the dance floor was moving, and everyone's mood was way up. It was just a great weekend and we had a blast! Happy Birthday to Rick who brought the whole posse out to celebrate with us. It was the last weekend of bike week and the bikes were definitely out. Thanks to everyone for such a great weekend. We will be heading out to Surprise this weekend, another of our favorite bars to play. There will a wet t-shirt contest on Saturday, so ladies bring your wares and win some money! The last time we were at The Octane , we blew the roof off the place, so come help us do it again. It's a helluva drive, but well worth it. We have some great shows coming up in the last half of April. Next weekend we will head back to Cactus Jacks on Friday and then Flicka's on Saturday! On the 25 th & 26 th , we head back to The Blooze with a couple of very special shows… Angry Jon & Friends! We have some special guest bands and players coming out both nights and of course we will be playing as well. Keep an eye on the schedule for some more great shows coming your way.

April 2

The Detour… Well, let me first say that they treated us very well and that is always appreciated. It is a smaller club with a tiny stage, but the vibe and atmosphere is huge! We weren't sure what to expect Saturday night, but we were all very pleasantly surprised. Harley played with us once again and did a fantastic job. We had a lot of fun and the place was definitely rocking! We will be playing there again in the future, so keep an eye on the schedule. This year for Bike Week, we wanted to avoid playing the big, over priced events. So instead of Westworld or one of the others over done events, we will be right at home at HARDTAILZ! We always have a blast playing here and we love seeing all of our friends who come there to see us. Hardtailz is the best biker bar in the valley, but they just don't cater to bikers. Everyone is welcome and the environment is one of fun and good times! We hit the stage at 9:30 both Friday and Saturday nights and we look forward to seeing everyone out there.

March 26

We hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter. Easter weekend is typically not a good weekend to play out, but we were pleasantly surprised by the turnout we had this past weekend at Pepper's. With Will out, Harley did a great job filling in on guitar. It was cool to play with him again and we had a few people come out just for that little reunion. At some point here, we may be playing Pepper's every second weekend of the month. Keep an eye on the website for all show information. This Saturday we will be playing a new club for us called The Detour. They are located on Chandler Blvd between Kyrene Rd and the I-10. This is a cool little club and they have a great vibe. It's one of the smaller places you will see us, but the staff and owners are all very cool. They are really excited to have us, so make sure you come out and support a new club with us. Get there early as good seats will go very fast.

March 19

Well, we played at The Waterfront on Friday and I can now tell you that we won't be going back there. They are building a bad reputation among the bands in town. They have a really cool staff, but management can't seem to make up their minds as to what kind of club they want to promote. It also doesn't help that they don't want to pay the band squat. So we won't be back, but we do want to thank those of you who did come out and support us. Thanks to Mike Whitman of The Cradle Robbers and John and Steve from Rock Addix for sitting and jamming a few songs. We did have a good time, but not good enough to play for nothing! This weekend we head back to Peppers in Mesa. We always look forward to playing here and every time the crowds have gotten better and better. They have a great smoking patio and the staff is really good as well. There is always a great party atmosphere as well and everyone always has a great time. So come out and join us for two night of partying like rock stars! They are located on Main Street, between Recker and Power roads in front of Goodwill. See you there!

March 12

Nothing else to say about this past weekend other than… The Octane Lounge ROCKED!!! Best crowds we have had in there for a while. We had two very busy nights and the crowd was rocking all weekend. Thank you to everyone who came out and make it such a great time! We didn't know that they were having a wet t-shirt contest on Saturday, but who are we to complain? Our guitarist extraordinaire Will was the man in charge of the water and our very own Tina took the top prize. I did get some pictures that will be on the website soon. We will be back there in April and look forward to it! This weekend we really need you in Chandler. We will be playing at The Waterfront and they changed booking agents and thru us a couple of curve balls on the show. I won't go into any details, but we really need you to come out to this show. It is a cool place with a big patio next to a lake and some good food as well. They are located on the Southeast corner of Ray Rd and Dobson Rd and we hit the stage at 9:30pm. We have some really cool shows coming up soon, so keep your eyes on the schedule and we really hope to see you soon!!!

March 5

Famous Sam's was another smashing success. We had even more people than the first time we played there. The staff was awesome and it was great to see everybody who came out. The night started out slow, but next thing we knew the place was full. We are looking forward to playing here more in the future. We don't have any other dates booked at the moment, but we will have some very soon. This weekend we head back out to Surprise to play at The Octane Lounge! We haven't been there since New Years Eve and we are looking forward to getting back there. The staff at The Octane is all hot and they do a great job taking care of our crowds! Since we haven't been there in awhile, you may want to get there early for a good seat. The Octane is located on Bell Road, just east of grand Ave.

February 28

Pepper's has been a good club for us, but this weekend was by far the best we have had there yet. We have wanted a club in the east valley that we could promote and build a crowd with and it looks like it's really starting to happen with Pepper's. They have a great room and a cool vibe. Both nights were very busy. We want to thank you all for coming out and partying with us this past weekend. We will be back there in March. This coming weekend we will be back at Famous Sam's in Chandler. We had a great first night there at the beginning of the month and we are looking forward to another one. The staff was awesome and they have some good food as well. You can help us make another great night by coming out this weekend and helping us blow the roof off the joint! They are located on the southwest corner of Ray Rd and Alma School Rd. We will be heading back out to the other side of town next month, so all you west-siders, keep an eye on the schedule for when we will be in your area.

February 21

A big thank you goes out to those of you who showed up this past Friday to Club Red, on three days notice! We new it was going to be tough to pull off and the place wasn't packed by any means, but we did still have about 30 of our friends show up and the club was actually very pleased. We did them a last minute favor and they appreciated the fact that we were willing to show up on two days notice to help them out. It's a big club with a great stage and sound system. They do want us back, but it will probably be with one or two other bands. The room is just too big for one band to fill the place. So keep checking the website for an announcement of when that will be. This weekend we head back to Pepper's in Mesa. This club is just starting to find it's own identity. We have been playing there for a few months and have been thru a change of ownership as well. This is a very cool bar with a great smoking patio and we always have a good time here. If you haven't been there yet, come out this weekend and check it out for yourselves. We hear our favorite waitress Kelly is back, so we know you'll love your service! They are located on Main Street, between Recker and Power roads, in front of the Goodwill. Hope to see you all there!!!

February 13

We never know what to expect at a new club, but Famous Sam‘s rocked! We had a great crowd and met a lot of new people. The place was rocking for sure and we got a lot of very positive feedback. They have asked us to book more shows with them in the future, which we are happy to do. We will actually be back there on Saturday, March 1st . They have a great layout and the food is good as well. We were supposed to be off this weekend, but a new venue called us to see if we could play this Friday, so we will be at Club Red in Tempe . This is a fairly new venue, but all reports are that it is a kick ass place to play. There are two sides to the bar, the other side is called The Red Owl. Jason DeVore, the singer from Authority Zero will be playing on that side of the bar Friday night. So, you will be getting a lot of entertainment that night. There will be a $5.00 cover to get in and they do serve food. We could really use your support on this one, especially since it is so last minute. Plus, this a very cool venue that we would like to play at in the future. They are located on the southwest corner of University Drive and Price Rd (101 freeway). We start at 9:30 and play till 1:30. We hope to see you all there. Next weekend we head back to Pepper's in Mesa . This is a great club as well with a big dance floor, good food and a great staff.

February 5

It had been two years since we had last played O'Kelley's and we weren't sure what to expect, but you all really brought it! The place was jumping right from the beginning and didn't stop until we played the last note. We were also trying to help out a friend of ours, Tim who had been in a motorcycle accident the previous week. The people there raised over $800.00 for his family to help cover medical expenses. We celebrated a couple of birthdays and everyone was in a party mood for sure. We had a blast and we will be back there in May to celebrate Mike's birthday. This weekend we are taking the show down the street to Famous Sam's and we will be celebrating everyone's favorite bass players birthday... ED! This will also be our first time playing here so we really need you to come out and help us show them what an Angry Jon show is all about and show the love to Ed. We are there on Saturday only and they are located on the southwest corner of Ray and Alma School . They have a big smoking patio and they do serve food. We hit the stage at 9:30pm and look forward to rocking the house with you all. We are off next weekend, but will be back at Pepper's in Mesa the following weekend. Check the schedule page for all upcoming shows.

January 24

This was the first time in over five years that Cactus Jacks had a band for two nights in a row. It wasn't the busiest weekend we have ever had there, but it was still a good time. We saw some good friends and made a few new ones as well. The staff was excellent as always and everyone had a blast. We will be back at Cactus Jacks in April for a Friday only show and then again in July for another two nighter. Thank you to everyone who came out! This Friday we head back to O'Kelley's. We haven't played here in over two years and we are looking forward to getting back there and seeing all of our old friends we have made there thru the years. Jilly already has the Jager chilling! Get there early as this promises to be a very busy night. We will be updating the schedule very soon with all of our upcoming dates so come back often and check for updates. We are looking forward to all of our shows and seeing all of you this year!!!

January 17

Hardtailz is always a great time, but this weekend was exceptional! Friday night was very busy and the crowd was in a party mood. It was the best night we have had in awhile, so we expected Saturday to be a bit slower. Well, we couldn't have been more wrong. Saturday was busier that Friday. Between the smoking ban, the new DUI laws and the economy being down, all the bars have seen a drop in business. We have seen this kind of thing before and know that it will come back around, but it was so great to have the kind of weekend that we did. Thank you to everyone who came out this past weekend. Hardtailz has been so good to us over the years! This weekend we will be in Ahwatukee at Cactus Jacks. It will also be the first time that we will be playing there both Friday & Saturday nights. We are looking forward to being able to do that. We are the only band they are doing this with right now to see how it works. It's nice for us so we don't have breakdown after the first show, but also to be able to see those who go out on Saturday night. Come out and help us show them that Angry Jon for two nights is a good thing! We will be making our return to O'Kelley's in February and we will be playing our first show at Famous Sam's in Mesa as well. Check the website for dates and all new updates in the upcoming weeks.

January 10

East Mesa may never be the same after these shows. We had a great weekend at Peppers! Friday night, Ed had t be out of town for a family emergency, but Andy Watts did a fantastic job of filling in on bass. Things got a bit crazy and the Jager was flowing! So much that I forgot to take more pictures. (Sorry Andy) The crowd was in a party mood and we just had a great time! Saturday was even better! The night started out with a full house and everyone was primed and ready to go! Everyone was rocking right off the bat and the vibe was very cool. At some point in the night, Ed decided he needed to borrow a shirt because his was sweat soaked, so I loaned him one of mine. A few minutes later, he comes strolling without my shirt on; he has my girlfriend Eden's shirt on. This is where things got interesting. I unbuttoned my shirt and tied it at the waist, the Will and Mike proceeded to swap shirts with their wives. It may have been the gayest moment in Angry Jon history, but the crowd was on the floor laughing. We finished the night that way and there are pictures to prove it (incriminate us) that will be on the website soon. It was an interesting, but very fun weekend. We also wanted to thank everyone who was there on Saturday for your patience. The bar was understaffed because a couple of waitresses had called in sick. We really, really do appreciate everyone sticking around all night long! This weekend we head out to the west side to play at Hardtailz! ALWAYS a party and one of the coolest joints in town. We always look forward to our Hardtailz shows. We will be there both Friday and Saturday nights. We hope to see all of our west valley fans partying with us this weekend! Get there early for the best seats in the house. They also have good food available all night. Next weekend, we will be playing at Cactus Jacks both Friday and Saturday nights. They decided to test run our band for 2 nighters!

January 3

Happy New Year. We hope you all had a fun and safe New Year celebration. We had a very fun weekend. We played The Waterfront on Friday and we had a really good turnout for the Friday before New Years. We were actually surprised by the amount of people who showed up. The staff was great and the place seems like it's going to be a cool place to play in the future. We were at The Octane Lounge for New Years Eve and what a great party that was. We had some technical issues with my microphone, but after we got that worked out, we rocked the house. The staff was awesome once again and the crowd was in a party mood. Our ex-bass player Steve was there and played a few songs. The coolest part of the night was that we raised some money for our charity and kid in the hospital with AIDS who wanted a Playstation 3 for Christmas. I figured we would come close to making enough to buy one, but everyone went way over those expectations. We ended up raising over $1100.00 that night. I was blown away!!! Thank you all so much for your generosity in helping us with a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. You all ROCK!!! We are taking this weekend off, but will be back at it January 11 th & 12 th at Peppers in Mesa . We haven't been there since November and we are looking forward to getting back and rocking the east valley. Peppers is a very cool place and we are really looking at this place as our east valley home. Come out and help us kick off the new year Angry Jon style!!!
