July 14 What a busy weekend!!! We started off on Friday at Aunt Chilada's and what a cool place!!! It wasn't real busy, but they said they thought it might have been the heat. They were happy with us and have said they will be bringing us back as soon as they can. On Saturday, we were at Kiley's. They have really been putting a lot of time and money into making it a killer venue. They have some great food and a huge smoking patio with a bar outside as well. On Sunday, we participated in the Re-Build The Blooze benefit show at Joe's Grotto. The bands were all great and the crowds were amazing. We were very proud to be a part of the event. Tumbleweed was overwhelmed by all the love and support and extremely humbled by everything being done to help them out. A big thanks to Joe, Becky, Julie and everyone involved in the event. This Saturday, we will be back at Kiley's Grill. This has become a favorite venue for us. The place has a great vibe and some really good food! They just built a bar outside on their huge smoking patio and continue to make improvements all the time. This is turning into a great place to see and hear a band! They are located on Alma School Road about a half mile north of Warner Road. There will be 2 for 1 Jagers, beer specials and no cover!!! Mark your calendars for the benefit that I and Steve Favela (Lit Up) have been putting together for The Blooze and Tumbleweed. We will be having it at The Hideaway in Cave Creek and there will be a bike run in the morning starting at RamJet racing, with registration starting at 10:00am. The bands will start at noon and we have a killer line-up. Please come and help our friend get his life, income and bar back! July 7 We hope everyone had a safe and fun 4 th of July. It has been a pretty rough, but productive couple of weeks since out last show at The Blooze. We have learned a bunch of new songs and checked out some new clubs. As I am sure you have all heard, there was a fire at The Blooze that has shut them down. We are grateful that no one was inside at the time of the fire, but pretty much everything in the place was lost. I went down there this past Saturday to help with some clean-up and it was pretty ugly, but Weed and Alayna are trying to stay positive and are saying that they will be back stronger than ever. In the meantime though, they, along with their staff, have lost their way of making a living. It has been really amazing to watch all of the support being thrown their way. The music community is really coming together on this one. The Blooze has been the longest standing gig for Angry Jon. We have been playing there for over 10 years now. This place has never been “just another bar” to me and Weed and Alayna are good friends. So, I have been involved with a couple of the six benefit shows that are going on to help them out. Steve Favela and I have put together a Benefit that will be taking place on July 31 st at the Hideaway in Cave Creek. There will be a Bike Run in the morning that will start at Ram Jet Racing that will end at The Hideaway by noon, where we will have seven bands perform throughout the day. There will be more information on that benefit very soon. But, in the meantime… This weekend will be a very busy one for us. On Friday, July 9 th we will be performing at Aunt Chilada's (on Dreamy draw) for the first time. We really need all of our West and North valley friends out for this one. They have great food and killer margarita's, so get there early for a good seat and check out all of the new songs that we just learned. On Saturday, July 10 th we will be back at Kiley's Gril in Chandler. This has fact become a favorite place for us to play. They have great food and lower beer prices and whenever we play there, you can get two for one shots of Jager!!! The show starts at 9:30pm and the party starts about thirty minutes before that!!! On Sunday, July 11 th , we will be taking part in a benefit to “Re-Build The Blooze” at Joe's Grotto. Bands include, Lit Up, VH Too, Terrashain, 74 th Street, I Don't Know, Truckers On Speed, The Heymakers, Psycho Gypsies and more. Donations at the door and there will be raffles as well. The bands start at 1:00pm and we go on at 8:00pm. We would really appreciate your support this weekend!!! June 17 What a great weekend off! I went to California and saw my daughter graduate from college, spent the day at the beach with my kids and grandkids and even brought two of them back with me so they could spend the summer here with us. It's been a long time since I have had a 3 and 5 year old in my house. Loving it!!! We are now ready to rock The Blooze! It's been six months since the last time we played here and we are really looking forward to getting back there! This will also be our first show outside of the east valley with the new line-up and new songs. We hope to see all of our friends and look forward showing you all the new and improved Angry Jon! We hit the stage at 9:30pm, so get there early for a good seat. There is no cover for this show and The Blooze has the coldest and best beer prices in town! The Blooze is located on the SW corner of 32 nd Street and Cactus. June 9 What an awesome weekend! We kicked off the weekend at Kiley's on Friday and had a great show. We really enjoy playing at Kiley's. The staff is awesome and a pleasure to work with. We saw a lot of friends and made some new ones as well. The ownership is really putting a lot of work into the place and seems to understand what it takes to make a successful music venue. They are making changes and improvements all the time and will be installing a stage very soon as well. Please check it out the next time we play there. They have some really good food as well, not the same old fried bar food. On Saturday, we got to get out of the heat and play in the cool pines of Prescott! We literally played in the pines. The Rough Riders Motorcycle Club hired us to play they're annual run up there in the middle of their camp ground. The brought up a generator and even though we were set up in an old sand volleyball pit, we had a blast. What a great group of people. They made us feel very welcome and took good care of us. It was pretty cool to basically be playing a gig in the middle of the woods. It sounds like they want to invite us back next year as well. Big thanks to Ryno and everyone who was there. We are off this coming weekend, but will be back at The Blooze on June 19th . It has been six months since we have played there and this will be our first gig, with the new line-up, outside of the east valley. We are really looking forward to it and are really excited for everyone on that side of town to get their first taste of the “new” Angry Jon. All of the feedback about the changes we have made, have been really positive. This isn't the same Angry Jon you are used to seeing. So, come out and check it out for yourself! New players, more energy, newer more danceable songs!!! We will also be debuting at Aunt Chilada's on July 9th!!! June 3 We hope everyone survived the Memorial Day Weekend and un-official start of summer. We finally saw our first 100 degree day the last day of May… And so it begins! Our weekend actually turned out pretty damn good. Saturday night we headed up a Jam night at The Blooze. These things always have the potential to be a disaster, but somehow we pulled off a pretty incredible night of music. Angry Jon started the night off (minus Ed) and got things going pretty well. After a few songs we gave way to the guys from 74 th Street and it was on! Tumbleweed, Michael Nitro, Brett Kaiser, Danny Wexler, Dwaine Miller, Rick Greenly, Steve Favela, Scott from Wallstreet, Brendon from the Jack Ripper band and more. It really turned into a very memorable night for everyone there. The feedback was awesome no one tripped over anyone else's ego. I, Brett, Mike and Kevin all took turns playing with the different musicians depending on what was needed with all the different players on stage. It was a lot work to put together, but I would actually love to do it again sometime. Big thanks to weed and the staff for just being awesome!!! This Friday we will be back at Kiley's Grill in Chandler. This is fast becoming a favorite place for us to play. They have really good food, a killer staff, a huge smoking patio and it's a big place as well. The owners get the whole “live” music thing and it is a real pleasure to play there. They have new, lower Happy Hour pricing. They will be running 2 for 1 Jagers while we are on stage and 2.75 for all beer in bottle or draft all night long! Kiley's is located on Alma School, a half mile north of Warner Road. We will be off next weekend, but will be back at the Blooze on June 19 th . The Blooze has been like home to us for over 10 years and we haven't played there since December. So another wards… this one is going to be a blow-out. This will be the first time we will be playing with the new line-up outside of the east valley. The Blooze is located on the southwest corner of 32 nd Street & Cactus. May 27 I am still exhausted from this past weekend. Three shows in 24 hours!!! The biggest news was that Mike was cleared by his doctor to start playing again. We were very happy to have him back, but were more excited for him personally that he was able to come back so quickly to something that he loves to do! Friday night, we were at Kiley's Grill in Chandler. We had some technical difficulties, but that was kind of expected in a way with it being the first time with Kevin on bass and Ed on guitar. Even with some hiccups, it ended up being a good night and we finally got that first gig with new changes, out of the way. Saturday afternoon, we played the Crohn's & Colitis Walk at Tempe Town Lake Beach Park. It was really windy and pretty warm, but we had a good time and got a ton of positive feedback. A big thanks goes out the Paul for doing a great job on the sound and it was great to see so many familiar faces. The band and the CCFA really appreciated it. When we finished with that event, we immediately tore down and headed back to Kiley's for a show that night. We fixed the problems from the night before and ended up having a really awesome night. We were beat, but the big crowd helped us forget that pretty fast. Thanks to the management and staff at Kiley's, who are just really cool and a joy to work with. We will be back at Kiley's in June and every month until the end of the year! This coming Saturday… Jon-A-Thon Memorial Day Weekend Jam-A-Thon at The Blooze. Come join us for a night of some of your favorite local musicians! Just to name a few… Members of Angry Jon, Danny Wexler, Michael Nitro, Bret Kaiser, Members of 68 Guns, 74th Street and many others! The fun starts at 9:30pm and we expect this to be one big party!!! May 18 Happy Birthday to Shanan and Marty!!! What a great time we had playing at their Toga Birthday party this past Saturday. I want to send a BIG thanks out to Charlie for coming out and filling in for Mike. I also want to thank Will for playing with us all night. It was great playing with them once again. The party was a blast and we had a bunch of special guest musicians playing as well. It's always a lot of fun when you get to play and hang out with a bunch of your close friends! This weekend will be a very busy one for us. We will be playing our first full weekend at Kiley's Grill on Friday and Saturday nights. Kiley's a very cool club with great food and a killer staff. Come early for dinner and good seat. On Saturday afternoon, we will also be playing at the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Take Steps Walk at Tempe Town Lake. Registration starts at 4:00pm and we will start playing around 4:30pm. As you all know, my girlfriend's son suffers from Crohn's and your support would be greatly appreciated! Kiley's Grill is located on Alma School Road, a half mile north of Warner Road. The Boulevards were scheduled to have our first full night show at The Blooze on May 29 th , but because of the health issues that came about with Mike, we were forced to cancel. But, in conjunction with Tumbleweed, we have put together a very cool event that night in its place. The Memorial Weekend Jam-A Thon. (Both Weed and I share the first name Jonathon) We will have a bunch of very cool guest musicians playing that night. Members of Angry Jon, Micheal Nitro, Danny Wexler from Icon, Thor of 68 Guns and many more. I will fill in the blanks next week. This should be an awesome night of music with a lot of great musicians! May 8 Our show this past Saturday at Cocomo Joe's was awesome. What a cool place to play and hang out. It was everything we were hoping it would be and more. The crowd was great and very responsive. Thanks to everyone who came out. Happy Birthday to our drummer Mike and thanks for Kelly and Jeff for the awesome cake! We are hoping to have more shows booked there soon and we will let you know when we do. You really need to check this place out! We just picked up and extra gig for this Wednesday at Kiley's for they're all day Cinco De Mayo Party. We will be playing from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There will be a $10.00 cover to get in and proceeds will be going to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Lot 's of food and drink specials will be available as well. Ed won't be with us because of his work schedule, but we do have that covered. How is that you ask??? Well, as you all know, we have been making some changes in the band, with the most prominent one being Will's departure. We have weighed a few options on how we wanted to proceed and we have made a decision that we are ready to share with everyone. We actually tried the new line-up out this past Saturday at Cocomo Joe's and we were really happy with the results. So here it is… Ed will no longer be playing bass for us. Ed has been our bass player for about 8 years now and I know this comes as a shock to everyone. But Ed has decided to move on in a very positive way for him. Ed will now be Angry Jon's new guitar player! That's right, Ed returns to the instrument he originally set out to play. When Will left and we were weighing our options, the idea came up and Ed wasn't sure at first, but warmed up to the idea quickly. He picked up his guitar and started playing to see if it was even plausible. There was some rust there, but he discovered that there wasn't enough rust to keep him from making this change. SO, does that mean Jon is going back to playing bass??? HELL NO! No one wants to see or hear that again. We knew filling Ed's shoes on bass was going to be a big undertaking and we wanted to make sure we could get someone who would be able to step up right away and was a very strong player. It just so happened that a very good friend of mine, that I have known for 20 years and is an exceptional bass player, was open to the idea of joining up with us. So, it is my great pleasure to announce that Kevin Ichrist will be joining the band and taking over the “low end” responsibilities in Angry Jon. Kevin is somewhat of a local legend on bass, going all the way back to his days with Sher Kahn and Bad Romeo in the late 80's, early 90's. Kevin has recorded and played with Bob Welsh, Chuck Hall and many, many others. In recent years he has been playing with Dr. Ruth and the Aztex band. He is also the bass player from The Boulevards and we are very happy that he is on board with us now! We all played together for the first time this past Saturday for a couple of set's and it just really felt right! everyone gelled musically and personally as well. I know there have been a ton of changes in the band this year, from music direction, member changes and new clubs, but we feel it is all very positive and after 13 years… very needed! It was starting to feel stale and repetitive and that is not how playing music should feel. We have paid a lot of dues over the years and kept our name out there longer than most bands are able to do. I am proud of everything we have done over the years and we really look forward to this new chapter in the Angry Jon saga. Come and check us out for yourselves and let us know what you think! April 28 No volcano is going to shut us down! With Mike stuck in England and us being down one guitar player, we pulled off a really fun night at San Tan Brewing this past Saturday. A HUGE thanks goes out to Rodney Krentz from Losing William for filling in on drums with us, on two days notice. He did such a great job and we had such a good time playing with him. We also had Kevin Ichrist, who was playing in a band a couple of doors down, come in and play a couple of songs on bass guitar. We had a good crowd and we got a lot of compliments on the music we did. My brother Randy and his Wife Cyndi were celebrating 33 years of marriage that night as well. That is a huge milestone in this day and age and I am really proud of them! Thanks also go to the staff and management at San Tan! They always treat us very well. This Saturday we are going to be playing a very cool club that we have been working on getting into called Cocomo Joe's in Cave Creek. This is an awesome room!!! They have a great stage, a huge bar and a very, very cool vibe. We will also be celebrating Mike's birthday that night! We also have another very cool surprise that night, but you will have to show up to find out what it is. Cocomo Joe's is located at 28244 N. Tatum Blvd. in Cave Creek. We start at 9:30pm, but I would suggest getting their early if you want a seat. This club get's big crowds! We can always use your support in a new club. On a sad note… Will and the band have decided to part ways. This is happening on good terms with friendships intact. Will has been with Angry Jon for five years and has been a big part of our success. He brought his flavor to the band and the music we played. Through the years, his playing has spoken for itself. Not only is Will a great guitar player, but an even greater human being. I am sure it won't be long before you are hearing those familiar riffs in club again. I want to especially thank Will for his friendship and loyalty during his time in Angry Jon and wish him all the best in his future musical and life endeavors. THANK YOU WILL… YOU TRULY ROCK!!! As far as the band goes… We will still be a two guitar band, but we are in the process of working out who that person will be. In the meantime, we are still playing all of our shows with the remaining four guys and still learning the new songs. As soon as we have made a decision on a new member, we will let you know the who, what, when, where, why and how! April 21 FINALLY… We are going to be playing again!!! We will be at San Tan Brewing in Chandler this Saturday. We go on at about 10:00pm and can't wait to hit the stage. San Tan is a very cool place with a very cool vibe. They have great food and some awesome micro brew. There is no cover to get in, but we do recommend you get there early for a good seat. The following Saturday May 1 st , we will be at Cocomo Joe's for the first time. We are really excited about the place. It is a big club, with a cool stage and lot's people!!! It's just a really cool place to hang out and see a band. They have good food, killer patios, pool tables and a huge bar. We really want to impress them and would really appreciate your support! We are still working on new music and will be playing new songs every week until we get to the 32 that we have picked out and are learning. We really feel that this new direction with music is going to be a very positive thing for the people who come to see us and something new for all the long time fans as well. So, come check us out and let us know what you think about all the changes! April 12 I figured, even though we aren't playing until the 24 th at San Tan, I would just drop by to say hi… HI! We are all chomping at the bit to get back out there and play again and we are really excited to play all of this new music we are learning for you! We have some new clubs and venues lined up as well and we are sure you all like a lot. With all of these changes we are working on, it almost feels like a whole new band and with that, a whole new attitude. We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having and had a great Easter holiday. The time off has allowed us to enjoy some family and friends time and really enjoy this time of year in Arizona. Like I said, we will be back at it on April 24 th at San Tan Brewing and have some very cool gigs coming up in May. We will be celebrating our loyal friend and fan Shanan's birthday with a private party at her house. We have a very full weekend May 21 st and 22 nd with Angry Jon playing at Kiley's both night's and The Boulevards playing at the Crohn's Walk on that Saturday afternoon. The Boulevards will also be playing at The Blooze on May 29 th for our first full night show. Ed's other band VH Too, will also be playing The Blooze in June as well as Angry Jon. As always… Thank you for your support and we will see you soon!!! March 24 The weather was beautiful on St Patrick's Day and the turnout at Kiley's was amazing. It's always very cool when you're playing for 500 people! Big Thanks to Mike and the staff at Kiley's for us down and we look forward to more shows with them in the future. We are taking a short break while a couple guys do the vacation thing. We are learning more and more new songs and are really excited about the way things are moving along. Brett has been a great addition and the response has been very positive to the changes we are making. For us, it's almost like a new band and with all of the changes, it has really rekindled the fire in us to bring the best show we can to the stage. We have new venues we are working with that we think are going to make you all very happy! We will be back at it on April 24 th at San Tan Brewing and look forward to seeing everyone when we get back to work! In the meantime, support local music and check our friend's bands that play all over the valley. You can find many of their links on our MySpace or website. Also, keep checking those sites for updates, updated song list's, news and other band information. We have really appreciated your support over these last 13 years! Thank you and we will see you soon. March 17 Smokey's was a lot of fun and once again… our biggest crowd yet. Thank to everyone who came out. We played our 10 new songs and the reaction was good. It got a little interesting on a couple of them, but it was fun. The staff was top notch and we appreciated everyone who danced. This Wednesday we are doing another first for us. We are playing a St Patty's Day event. I know many people are surprised that we haven't done this before, but the stuff we were offered in the past either didn't work out or we were'nt interested. Anyway, we will be playing at Kiley's on the outdoor stage from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The are a bunch of bands playing all day long, they start serving breakfast at 6:00am and half of all the money made that day will go to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Come down and have some green beer and support a great cause!!! We will be off after this show until the end of April. A couple of guys are going on vacations and we want to get a bunch more new songs learned by the time we come back. We have some great new venues we are going to be playing and are looking forward to bringing you what we think is a bigger, better version of Angry Jon. As always… We appreciate your support and hope to see you all on Wednesday! March 9 We definitely started the “new evolution” out on the right foot this past Saturday! Brett fit perfectly and sounded great with us. It added a whole new dimension to our sound and feel on stage. Everyone that was there that has seen us before thought Brett was a really good addition. Kiley's… Is a great new addition to our kitty of clubs we will be playing. From the owners to the staff to the crowd, it was just an amazing night all around. The place was full and people were dancing all night long. It is a really nice place and they have great food with big portions. The owners have already booked us back for some dates through July and we will also be playing at their St. Patrick's Day Party on Wednesday March 17 th . They will be open at 6:00am that day and will have bands all day long. We will be playing from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, so come check it out and have a green beer or Jager, since that is green too! This Friday, the evolution continues as we will be playing ten new songs for you at Smoky's in Mesa. We have 28 on the list and we are biting them off a few at a time. This will also be our last full show until the end of April, as we have a couple of guys going out of town over the next few weeks and we want to get all of our new songs learned. Smokey's is located on Main Street, about a mile west of Gilbert Rd. We hit the stage at about 9:30pm and we would love to see you before we head out on vacation! March 2 It was a rainy, drizzly night at San Tan and not our best crowd ever, but there was a good crowd. It was cool to have our friends in the band Aztex playing next door. They came over and sat in with us for a few songs and then Will and I sat in with them when we were done. All in all, it was a fun night and as always, thanks to the great staff! We will be back there at the end of April. This Saturday we really need you!!! We are playing a new club called Kiley's in Chandler . This is a big place with great food and really cool vibe and we need to pack the house. We are hoping to get on a regular rotation with them and appreciate your support. This will also be the debut of Brett Richey as our 2 nd guitar player and we would love for you to come out and welcome him to the band. Brett has played for many years in the valley with such popular bands as Impact, Innuendo, The Cradle Robbers & The Boulevards. He brings a lot of energy and tasty guitar parts that will help us take the band to the level we are striving for this year. Kiley's is located on Alma School Road , a mile north of Warner road in Chandler and we hit the stage at 9:30pm. This is only the first change for us. We are adding 28 new songs over the next few weeks and we will also be adding new clubs. We have been playing in the valley for 13 years now and feel it's time to make some changes, which we believe are all for the better! We will still be rocking your socks off, but we are picking newer, more danceable music. So keep your eye on our schedule and come out and watch and hear the evolution of Angry Jon in 2010!!! February 24 Thanks to those of you who came out this past weekend to Jugg'z. It was pretty slow, but they have also only been open for three weeks. Thanks to the staff for taking such good care of us. A big thanks goes out to the guy's from 74th Street for coming out on Friday to jam and for inviting us to their gig on Saturday to sit for a couple of songs as well. YOU GUYS ROCK!!! It looks like Chandler is becoming a theme. We will be at San Tan Brewing Co. in Chandler this coming Saturday. We love this place and we are sure you will as well. Great food and great micro brew as well. The place has a really cool vibe, so come check it out. We hit the stage at around 10:00pm. They are located on Arizona Ave, just south of Chandler Blvd. We have also booked a new club in Chandler for March 6th at Kiley's. This is another very cool new place. They are fast getting a reputation as a great place to hang out and see bands. Being our first time in, we could really use your support for this one. We need to pack the place, so please make plans to join us on Friday, March 5th . They are located on Alma School Rd and Warner. This will also be the unveiling of Angry Jon as a two guitar player band!!! We are making some cool changes to re-position ourselves in the local music scene. We have 28 new songs that we are in the process of learning. Not one is more than 15 years old. We feel it is time to change things up a bit and we know that you will all enjoy what is to come. This also includes the addition of as second guitar player. No one is leaving the band; we are just adding another very talented musician to help us expand our horizons. We believe these changes are going to be very positive and we are excited to be bringing you a bunch of new music. We will also be playing some new clubs as well. So, keep your eye on the website, MySpace and Facebook as we reveal these changes in the next few days! February 17 Well, have been off for a couple of weeks and we didn't think we would be back out until next Saturday at San Tan, but we had a last minute gig come up. So, we will be playing both Friday and Saturday nights this weekend at a brand new bar in Chandler called JUGG”Z. They are located 851 South Arizona Ave at Pecos. They have only been open for two weeks, so let's fill the place up and show them a great time! We hit the stage at 9:30pm both nights and really hope to see you all there. Some people have asked why we aren't playing much these days. Well, there are a few reasons. We played pretty much every weekend for 12 years, so we decided to take a little more time for ourselves. We have also wanted to find some new places to play. As most of you know, a lot of the places we used to play have closed or don't have bands anymore, so we are looking for some new venues. We all have side-projects these days as well, which you can see and read more about on our MySpace page. We also have a couple of changes coming your way here very soon. I will leave that in the air for now, until we are ready to share with everyone. These are good changes though and after 13 years of playing in the valley, we just want to freshen things up a bit. So, stay tuned and come check us out when are playing! January 31 A big thank you to everyone who came out Friday night to Smokey's! That was our best crowd yet there and the night was a lot of fun! Thanks again to the staff for being so cool and taking care of everyone. We will be back there in March. Saturday night, our boy Ed tore the stage up at The Blooze with his new side-project “VH TOO”!!! The place was packed to the gills and they actually had to stop letting people in at one point. Lit Up opened the show and sounded great! VH TOO hit the stage with a ton of energy and put on an amazing show! Ed's bass playing and (especially) his backing vocals were right on the money. We were very proud of him, even though it was weird seeing him play with another band. The rest of band was awesome as well. Marty had the look and the vocals were right on. He commanded the stage and would have made DLR proud! It was just a really great night and we were proud of them all, but most of all our Ed!!! Check out their MySpace for any upcoming shows in the future. This Friday, Jon and Mike's new side-project… The Boulevards takes the stage for the first time at Club Red!!! The Boulevards are a tribute to 80's Pop-Rock! This band features members of Angry Jon, Innuendo, Dr Ruth and Shut Up & Drive. We will also be recording the show for our demo DVD so we need all of your support to make it a great night. You will also be treated to Psychotic Supper, A Tribute to the music of Tesla!!! The band features all of the members of Rock Addix and they do Tesla right!!! After we play, we turn the stage over to METAL ELVIS!!! This is one of the most unique and entertaining bands I have ever seen. Chance is ELVIS. If you have seen him out at the casino, then you know what I mean. This also features ex-members of Kaiser. This is going to be a great night of fun and entertainment not to be missed. We also have a couple of surprises in store for the evening as well!!! Club Red is located in Tempe on University and the Price Rd (101). The doors open at 8:00pm, with the first band hitting the stage at 9:00pm. I would suggest you get there early if you want a seat. There will also be a $10.00 cover to get in, but worth every penny and you will be supporting local music!!! January 26 LOT'S OF COOL SHOWS COMING UP... I for one am very happy to see 2009 go away!!! We had a great time at San Tan for our New Years Eve! The place was packed and everyone was in such a good mood and the atmosphere was awesome! It was nice to be close to home also this year. We are looking forward to what is to come this year with the band. We don't have another show booked until Jan. 29 th at Smokey's and Will, Ed, Mike and I have side projects that will be playing out very soon as well. I will update you on those later. We want to thank everyone for the support of the last year and really, the last 13 years! We have enjoyed entertaining you and hope to be entertaining you for years to come. We have just updated pics on the website, so when you get a chance, take a look. Check back often to see where we will be playing and all other special events that involve the band or band members. Once again… Thank you very much, we love you and hope this year brings you peace, success and happiness! December 29 Thank you so much to all of you who came out to our Christmas Hangover party at The Blooze this past Saturday. It was a great night and a lot of fun. Thanks to Tumbleweed and Marty for jamming with us and really big thanks goes to Charlie for filling in on drums for the night. We look forward to getting back to The Blooze in the coming year. It has been 10 years since we have done a east valley New Years Eve show and we are really excited to be playing at San Tan Brewing in Mesa this new Years Eve. This has been a great club for us and a very cool place. They have great food and some very potent micro brew. There will be a Champagne toast at Midnight and party favors with NO COVER. That's right folks, no cover. You will want to get there early though, as the good seats go quickly. See you all on Thursday night!!! San Tan is located on Arizona Ave, just south of Chandler Blvd. December 20 We hope your holidays are going well and the stress of the season isn't taking too much of a toll on you and yours. We have a really cool show coming up this Saturday at The Blooze. We weren't sure if a show the day after Christmas was a good idea, but Tumbleweed wanted us and a lot of people said they thought it would be a good day to do a show. It would be a good way to cut loose after a stressfull month of holidays, family, shopping, etc. So, please join us Saturday night for an “after” Christmas party!!! Mike will be out of town, but Mr Charlie Sutter will be joining us on drums for the evening!!! We will be in ....Chandler.... this year for New Years Eve at the San Tan Brewing Company. This will be the first east-side New Years Eve show in 10 years! We are excited about it and hope you will join us in ringing in the new year! December 9 We would like to thank everyone who came out to Hardtailz Saturday night, it started out slow but turned into a great night with some special guests including Steve from Lit Up and Marty from Rock Addix. We are not sure when we will be back at Hardtailz, so keep checking the schedule for updated info. This Friday night we are back on the East Side at Smokey's in Mesa. It's been a few months since we have played there some come check us out ... they are located on Main St. between Stapley and Gilbert. To wrap up 2009, we have a couple more shows booked ... The Blooze on 12/26 and New Year's Eve at the San Tan Brewing Company. We look forward to seing you and once again, thank you for the support! December 1 Well, we all had a great Thanksgiving and hope you did as well. It was very nice to get together with family and good friends and just enjoy each other's company. As it should be, it was also a chance to reflect on the things that are important to us in our lives and truly be thankful for the blessings in our lives. This Saturday, we make our way back out to Hardtailz for another rockin good time at one of our favorite clubs. It will be the last show for awhile on the west side of town, so we hope to see all of our west-side friends out to party with us before the end of the year. We hit the stage at 9:30pm and look forward to partying with you all. November 17 What a beautiful night it was out on Saturday night, too bad more people weren't out to enjoy it. The Octane Lounge is always a good time and a great place to play, but the crowd was on the small side, but consistent and we had great time with the people who were there. The staff was awesome and we love the owner Nick. Look for us there again after the first of the year. This weekend we will be playing a private party and we will be off the following weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be back out on December 5 th at Hardtailz. We will be at Smokey's in Mesa on December 11th . We will finish the year out on New Year's Eve at San Tan Brewing. The holidays have officially begun and we hope you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving and I will see some of you the day after at my house!!! November 4 We hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween. We had a great time at Hardtailz. The band dressed as Mexican Wrestlers and had a lot of fun with that. The crowd was great and the staff was awesome as always. We will be back at Hardtailz in December. This weekend, we will be back in the Planet Chandler at San Tan Brewing. This is a very cool [place with some really good food and their own great micro brew. It is located on Arizona Ave just off of Chandler Blvd in the new part of downtown Chandler. This place has a great vibe and every show there has been a blast. We start at 10:00pm, so get the early to enjoy some good food, followed by some great entertainment. We have also just confirmed that we will be at San Tan for New Years Eve. I has been 10 years since we have played an east side New Year's show, so we really looking forward to celebrating with all of our east valley friends. October 26 You gotta love October in Arizona! It has been so nice, except for those three days of 100 degree heat. We played a private party this past Saturday. It was an outdoor gig and the weather was just awesome. We had such a great time and the party was a blast. We also got test run this year's Halloween costumes. October 13 Fall is finally here!!!! The next seven months is why we live in Arizona and I am loving it. With that said, let's get together and celebrate! We are playing at a new venue for us this coming Saturday at The Red Owl. It is right next door to Club Red. They have recently re-modeled and added new light and sound, so it is pretty kick ass room. It is also conveniently located on University right off of the 101. We hit the stage at 9:30pm and there will be a $3.00 cover to get in. We need your support on this one, so bring your friends and family and will provides all of the entertainment! We will be having our annual Halloween party at Hardtailz this year on October 31 st . There will be a costume contest with cash prizes, so get your costume together and come out for a scary fun time! Make sure you check the website and our Myspace page for all other upcoming events through the rest of the year! September 28 It has been a busy few weeks for us, but it has also been really fun and rewarding. Thanks to everyone who supported our shows over the last few weeks. We are very lucky to have the fans, friends and supporters that we have! We get back into the grind this Saturday at Hardtailz. We always love playing here and look forward to getting back this weekend. We have been playing here for a long time and it has become a favorite place of ours. We hit the stage at 9:30pm, so get there early for a god seat and grab some food while you are it. We have some cool shows coming up here soon, including some holiday shows. In two weeks, we will be playing In Tempe at The Red Owl. It is connected to Club Red and we could use your support on this one. They remodeled the place and it is actually a pretty cool room now for live music. We will be at Hardtailz on Halloween night and there will be a costume party, so get prepared now. Check the schedule for all the other shows we have coming up and we hope to see you at one (or all) of them soon!!! September 8 I am very humbled from the benefit this past Sunday. I cannot even find the words to express how I feel and how much I appreciate everyone who came out in support. Let me first thank Hardtailz for helping us put this event on and all the hard work they were put through. I really don't think they were prepared for the avalanche that fell on them. Next, I want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to all the bands for donating their time and talents to an amazing day of music. Without the bands, there is no benefit. You all rocked!!! Personal thanks go to my friend Will Pierce. He was there with me all day, running sound, helping getting bands on and off the stage and without him, I would have been on an island. Thank you Will and I love you brother. To Eden and my girls… You are the best! Eden organized and kept the donations and raffles moving. She took care of everything I just didn't have time for! The biggest thanks of all go to all of you who showed up in support. I personally have never seen Hardtailz that packed and the mood and vibe was amazing! It was just a great day all around and will be going back to Hardtailz next Labor Day weekend for the benefit again! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! This week is another tradition as we take our show to The Blooze for my birthday party. I believe this is the 7 th year in a row of celebrating it at Blooze. My birthday shows are always a great time and you never know what to expect, other than a rocking good time!!! This year I will be celebrating with friends Saint Alana and Lisa Legs! So, we have triple threat for you and we know it is going to be off the hook. Blooze is our favorite club to play, so get there early and stay until they make us leave!!! Blooze is located on the southwest corner of Cactus and 32 nd Street. See you all there!!! August 24 We had a great time on the 14 th at Club Red playing with Metal Elvis. We had a lot of our friends show up and that is appreciated very, very much! Astro Creep 2000 did a set of Rob Zombie music and did a great job. We played next and the reactions we got were fantastic. Metal Elvis went on right after us and they were everything that was advertised. It is a very unique idea and they really pull it off. They want to have us do some more shows with them in the future, so we will let you know when. This weekend we have two shows at two different clubs. On Friday night we will be at Smokey's in Mesa. This is our third time in here and we have had fun at the previous shows. We are hoping this becomes one of our regular rotations clubs, but we need your support. On Saturday, we will be in Chandler at San Tan Brewing. This is a very cool micro-brewery with awesome food and a very cool vibe. Smokey's located on Main Street about a mile west of Gilbert Road and we go on at 9:30pm. San Tan is located on Arizona Ave and Chandler Blvd in the strip mall on the west side of Az Ave and we go on at 10:00pm. Also, remember that we have our 5 th Angry Against AIDS benefit show coming up on September 6 th at Hardtailz. We have six bands for your entertainment starting at 2:00pm and running until close. We have Angry Jon, Lit Up, Rock Addix, Chuck Hall, Wall Street and Organ Grinder. There is no cover for this event, but we are running a raffle and taking donations all day. Please come and help us raise money for a great cause!!! July 30 WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Thank you all for such an amazing night at Hardtailz! We had an awesome crowd and everyone was in such a good mood. Happy Birthdays go out to Mandy and Tanya. They are both longtime fans and Tanya has actually been around since the first show we ever did. So many friends showed up to help celebrate their birthdays and to just have a good time. We had many, many special guests get up and play with us as well. To many to name really, but the pictures on the website tell the whole story!!! Thanks to the staff at Hardtailz as well, who always treat us really good! We will be back at Hardtailz on Saturday, September 5 th for our next show and then the next day Sunday, September 6 th we will be having our Angry Against Aids benefit show there as well. Six bands… Angry Jon, Lit Up, Rock Addix, Wall Street, Organ Grinder and Chuck Hall. It's going to be an awesome day of music and we hope to raise a bunch of money for our charity! It doesn't look like there will be a cover charge, so everyone can spend a couple of bucks on food, drink and raffle tickets. We are also looking for more stuff that we can raffle off, so if you have any hook-ups for some cool swag that we can include in the raffle, please let us know! We are very excited about our next show on August 14th at Club Red with Metal Elvis. There will be 8 bands in all, covering both rooms. The first band goes on at 9:00pm, and we play right before Metal Elvis at about 10:00pm. Metal Elvis is a very cool band with a very unique idea. I can't really do them justice with words, so go check out their website or Myspace page, but they are well worth seeing. We have tickets for this show for $7.00 or you can pay $10.00 at the door. Just contact us and we will make arrangements to meet with you so you can get your tickets. July 23 We have come to another Monday! The weekends just aren't long enough are they? We had a great show on Friday at The Octane. It started out pretty slow, but the crowd built steadily. We even saw a couple of old band mates as well. Steve Dreher and Tom McDonald came out. We got them up to play and even though a couple of songs were pretty rough, we had a great time with them. Steve had to steal the show by slipping in the restroom and getting a free ride to hospital in an ambulance to end the night! (pics will be posted soon!) It was Mike's first night as our drummer and did an outstanding job! We are really happy about him joining the band and look forward to many a fun night with him. This coming Saturday, we will be out at Hardtailz and are really looking forward to playing there. Hardtailz is a favorite of ours and we always get to see so many friends. It has a great party atmosphere and we always have an awesome time when we play there. The staff is great, you can get a bite to eat and then dance it off if you like. We will also be having our benefit show there on Sunday, September 6 th . More details on that to come. Speaking of our benefit… We are looking for sponsors who would like to donate goods or services to be included in our raffle to help raise money. I don't believe there will be a cover, so we need to have lots of goodies to entice everyone to spend more! Just contact me thru the website or MySpace if you have anything to donate! Let me say Thank You in advance for that! July 15 I know it has been awhile since you have heard from us. We took some time off for vacations, moving, breaking in our new drummer. We don't like being off for this long, but this year we have tried to ease our schedule and make some time for family and other interests. We did head out this past Friday to the Blooze to check out “Lit Up”. They were really good and it was cool to see all of our friends away from a gig. We even booked my B-Day on September 11 th at Blooze, so we are really looking forward to that. This Friday, we get back to work at The Octane Lounge in Surprise. This will be mike's first official gig with us and we are excited to get things going with him. We love playing at The Octane and always have good shows out there. The staff is awesome and there is a great atmosphere. Next weekend we split the weekend between the east and west valleys. We will be at San Tan Brewing in Chandler on Friday and at Hardtailz on Saturday, so make plans to join us. We are also happy to announce that we have the benefit set to go on September 6 th at Hardtailz Bar & Grill in Phoenix . The is Sunday of Labor Day weekend, so mark it on your calendars and join us for a great fund raiser. I am really excited that were able to get the bands that we got. Check out this line up… Angry Jon, Rock Addix, Lit Up, Organ Grinder, Wallstreet and Chuck Hall. The day will kick off at 2:00pm and run all night! We are also looking for some swag that we can use for our raffle. If you own a business, know someone who does or just have some cool stuff that can be included, please contact us to make arrangements. June 17 Smokey's is fast becoming one of our more favorite places to play. They have a really cool staff and good room for rock bands. We want to thank all of our friends who came out this past Friday. It was very cool to see all of you and it was also great to meet some new people. The only sad part of the evening was that it was Charlie's last night with us. Charlie had asked us to keep this under wraps until after this last show. He kinda wanted to go out quietly without a big deal being made. Charlie has had some opportunity come his way that will put his family in a better situation and it involves some traveling that would conflict with the band schedule. We love Charlie and he will really be missed, but we also wish him all the luck in the world on his new adventure. He promises that he will still come out from time to time and throw down a couple of tunes with us. His time in the band was definitely a huge asset and he is still one of the best drummers I have ever had the privilege to play with. So, what now you ask??? Well, we already have our new drummer lined up and his name is Mike Whitman. Some of you will know him from the years he spent in local bands Innuendo and Cradle Robbers. He was also the drummer for the side project Ed and I have played in called The Egomaniacs. We are truly excited that Mike was available and really liked the idea of playing with us. Some of you saw Mike play with us a couple of weeks ago out at The Octane Lounge, where he really kicked ass! We are sad to be losing such a great drummer, but happy that we are bringing a great drummer as well. It will be fun to see how we grow in the coming months with Mike. We are off for the next month, but that gives us some time to get some things in order. With Mike coming in and Will back, we want to learn a bunch more songs and re-invent ourselves a little bit. The bar business just isn't what it used to be and the economy has definitely had an effect on the crowds that we have seen at shows over the last few months. We love playing music and we want to make sure we can continue to play for a long time to come, so we need your help… What do all of you want to see out of Angry Jon??? Do you have any song ideas that you would like to hear from us or songs that you haven't heard from us in awhile? Give us feedback on our shows. Good, bad or indifferent, we want to know. It's all about you! Without your support at the shows, we don't get to do what we love to do. So please, either thru MySpace or the e-mail on the website, let us know what you're thinking. We will be back at out mid-July so we hope to see you then! June 9 It's a long drive to The Octane Lounge, but it's always worth it. We had another great show out there. Mike Whitman did a great job for us on drums and everyone had nothing but positive things to say about him. Thanks Mike!!! Also, thanks to everyone who came out and supported us. It was good crowd and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We will be back out at The Octane in July. This Friday we head back to Mesa and Smokey's Bar & Grill. This has been a really cool place for us to play and it is pretty much the only place we play in the East Valley. They have some really good food and the staff is really cool as well. They are located on Main Street, about a half mile west of Gilbert road. We won't be playing again for a month, so come out and party with us in the east valley!!! June 2 Saturday night at Hardtailz was a blast, thank you to all of you who came out. We had a slow start to the night, but it picked up steadily and turned into a party. Thanks to Marty from Rock Addicts, Steve from Lit Up and Scott from Wallstreet, for getting up and jamming with us. The staff, as always, were really good and worked their butts off. We are actually thinking of holding our big benefit show there this year and would love to hear your feedback on it. This Friday we head back out to The Octane in Surprise. Charlie needed the night off and Mike Whitman who plays with Ed and I in the Egomaniacs and used to be in Innuendo and The Cradle Robbers, asked if he could play with us and of course we said yes. The Octane is always a great place for us to play and we are looking forward to it. It's a bit of a drive for many of you, but this place is always a blast and they have a really awesome staff. We will be in Mesa next Friday at Smokey's and then we will be off for the next four weeks, so get to play with us before we take a break! May 26 We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with lots of partying and fun. We also hope you took a minute to remember the men and women who have died serving our country. I have a very strong appreciation for these sacrificing and hope that I never take them for granted. We didn't play this past weekend, but it was still a great weekend. I got to see two of my daughters, son-in-law and new grandbaby over the weekend. It was really awesome! We also went over to Ed's house for a party on Sunday and saw a ton of good friends and had a blast! This weekend we head back out to Hardtailz on Saturday! We always love playing here and are really looking forward to the show! We always see a lot of great friends and the staff is truly one of the best in town. We start playing at 9:30pm and this will be Will's first night back there as well. So get there early for a good seat and have some fun with the boys!!! May 21 We had a great weekend. We started at Smokey's in Mesa on Friday. This is fast becoming a great venue for us. We don't play much in the east valley and we are really liking it here. They have good food and a cool staff as well as a good room for a band to play in. We will be back there in June. On Saturday we played at a private party for our friend Shannon. That was a blast. Lots of special guests showed up and we literally rocked the house!!! Happy Birthday to Shannon and thanks for a great time. We are off for the long Memorial Day weekend, but will be playing in Surprise at The Octane the following Friday. It's been awhile, so we are really looking forward to getting back there. You all have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend and we will see you soon! May 13 Saturday night we played at San Brewing for the first time and it was awesome! It is a really cool place, the staff was great and we saw a lot of friends as well. It's nice to get back in Chandler and we really liked the vibe here as well. They have booked us for a few more shows throughout the year, so if you didn't make it out, we will be back there. It was also Harley's last show with us and we will sure miss him. He was a big part of this bands history and he will be missed for sure. Good Luck and we love you!!! This Friday we are heading back to Smokey's in Mesa. We didn't expect to back so soon, but we are looking forward to the show. This will also be Will's first night back with the band, so come out and welcome him back to the family! Smokey's is located on Main Street about a half mile west of Gilbert Road. They have good food and a smoking patio. We will be playing a private party on Saturday, so if you got your invite, we will see you then. If not, we will be at Hardtailz on May 30 th. May 6 I guess I should say Happy Cinco De Mayo, but I'm not going to! We had a great night at the Blooze on Friday. We had a bunch of friends show up and sit in. A big thanks to Steve Favela, Marty the Party, Joseph from Goldie Rocks, Michael Nitro and of course Tumbleweed! Will came out and sat in for a few songs as well as he get's ready to take back over the guitar duties. We had a blast and really enjoyed being back at Blooze. This Saturday we are playing a new club for us and it is a really cool place in Chandler called San Tan Brewing Co. They have some great beer, awesome food and a really cool vibe. We want to impress, so we need you all to come out in support. This will also be Harley's last night with us before he leaves to go back to Ohio on Monday. Let's give him a great send off at a really cool bar and a night he will remember! They are located on the west side of Arizona Ave, just south of Chandler Blvd. We really hope to see you all there!!! Remember, we are looking for a second guitar player so if you know of anyone that plays well and can sing really well, pass this message along! April 28 We had a great time at Jakes and other than me losing my voice on Saturday, the shows went well. Happy Birthday to Henry and a big thanks to everyone that made it out. We are working some more bookings there, but probably not until September. This coming Friday we are excited to be getting back to The Blooze! We always look forward to playing here and we love Tumbleweed and the staff. It has been since before Christmas since our last show here, so we are really hoping to see all of our friends out on Friday. On a sad note… We knew when Harley had come back to the band, that he would be leaving with-in the year. Well, circumstances changed and he has expedited those plans. We regret to say that Harley will be playing his last two shows with us over the next two weeks at Blooze and San Tan Brewing Co. He will be missed, but he has also been waiting 20 years to move back home. We really wish him well and he will be missed. On the more positive side… Will is going to be re-joining the band. It's funny how this worked out, because we were getting ready to announce Will's return when Harley filled us in on his plans. We were going to be a two guitar player band like we had planned back at the end of the year. Well, we are still going that way and are going to start auditioning guitar players very soon. So, please spread the word that we are looking and potential guitar players can get a hold of me thru Myspace or the website. We are looking for a guitar player with very strong vocals. This person must be able to play guitar well and sing well. April 21 It is always a great feeling to do charity work and this band has always been willing to do it's share. This past Saturday, we played at the Crohns & Colitis Foundations “Take Steps” walk. We played throughout the event and had a great time doing it. This charity is also close to my heart because my girlfriend's son Clay suffers from Crohns. Our team “Clayton's Crohnnies” raised a combined $700.00 for the walk. It was a fun event, with a lot of activities as well and we hope to be invited back next year! This weekend we head back out to AJ to rock Jakes-O-Mine both Friday and Saturday nights. We had a great time the last time we were there and hope to see all of our eastside friends once again. Jakes is a fun place and the staff and owners are really cool people. They are located on Apache Trail (Main St), just west of Ironwood. We actually started at this club 12 years ago, so it's cool to be going back! We are really looking forward to heading back to Blooze on May 1 st and we will also be playing a very cool new club in Chandler called San Tan Brewing on May 9 th . Make your plans now and we hope to see you very soon!!! April 14 We had a great time at Smokey's on Friday. It was our first time playing there and we really enjoyed it. The staff was awesome and the crowd was even more awesome. We didn't know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised and really look forward to playing there again. We haven't booked anything as of yet, but we will be soon. As some of you know, my girlfriend Eden's son Clay has Chrons Disease. He is 14 years old and this has really been tough on him, but he has handled it better than I ever would be able to. He is a real trooper and a great kid to boot! The Chrons and Cholitis Foundation sponsors a walk once a year and Eden has put a team together called “Claytons Chronnies”. The point of the walk is to raise money for not only research, but also to help these kids in many ways including summer camps, counseling and family help among other things. The band was asked as well to play at this event that will be held on April 18 th at University of Phoenix Stadium at 4:00pm. This year's event will feature a family fun festival, the Camp Oasis Kids Zone, food sampling from Macayo's Mexican Restaurant, Red Brick Pizza and My Dinner Kitchen, as well as a classic car show. ‘Big Shoe' Stu Evan's will be the host of the event with special appearances by Big Red, The Gorilla, The Howler, Ronald McDonald, Roly the Magician and the Arizona Ghostbusters and of course… Angry Jon! We are also trying to raise money for Clay's team and I am including a link here so that if you so desire, you can click on it and make a much appreciated donation. The link is directly to for our team. Through this link, you can also access their website so you can see all of the services that they provide and what they are all about... http://online.ccfa.org/site/TR/Walk/Chapter-Southwest?px=1469824&pg=personal&fr_id=1252 April 7 We are looking forward to playing back in Mesa this Friday at Smokey's. This is a new club for us, so we definitely need your support on this one. Come on out and let's show this club how the Angry Nation parties! I believe the band will start playing at 9:00pm, so get there early for the best seats. The club is located on Main Street near Gilbert Rd. As some of you know, my girlfriend Eden's son Clay has Chrons Disease. He is 14 years old and this has really been tough on him, but he has handled it better than I ever would be able to. We had a great time and got to see a lot of our friends. Thanks to Will for coming up and jamming a few songs with us as well as Marty from Rock Addix. It was Casey's last show with us for awhile and we just wanted to tell her good luck and keep it rocking! We will be back at Hardtailz on May 30th. We were supposed to be playing at San Tan Brewing this Saturday, but there was a scheduling conflict and it has been pushed back to May, so we won't be playing this weekend. We will be at a new bar for us called Smokey's in Mesa next Friday the 10 th . We have also been asked to play the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation's Take Steps charity walk. As some of you know, my girlfriends son, Clay has Chron's and it hasn't been easy for him. We were very pleased when they asked if we could do this event. We do have a team that is walking to raise money and if you would like to donate to the cause, please contact me through the website e-mail or through our MySpace. You can also register your own team if you would like and I have added the information at the bottom of the page. We would really appreciate your support on this!!!! REGISTER NOW! www.cctakesteps.org / Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis March 24 Ed and I played with The Egomaniacs this past Saturday at a benefit for our troops. It was held at Mardi Gras and it went pretty well. We saw a lot of our friends and got to jam with friends. Steve's old band, The Cover Junkies were supposed to play, but Steve left that band, so we covered with about a week's notice and it was a lot of fun. We will be playing some more Ego shows this year at some point. This Friday, we take the show back out to Hardtailz. We will only be playing on Friday though, so make sure your there and you bring all your friends. We won't be playing on the Westside again for a few weeks and will be in the east valley for all of April. Hardtailz is always a great place for us to see a lot of friends and just have a great time. We usually play both nights when we are there, but they have gone to a different schedule with bands so we hope to see everyone out on Friday night!!! We have some new venues coming up in April, so check out the schedule and make your plans now to come and help us rock the places we have booked. March 16 We had another great time at The Octane Lounge. We had a really good crowd and the vibe was excellent. We want to give a big thanks to Steve Dreher for filling in for Ed at this show. Steve did a great job filling in while Ed was on hiatus and we really appreciate his help. Thanks to the staff and everyone who came out! Our next show will be at Hardtailz on the 27 th . We are only playing one nighters here from now on and this will be our last west-side show for awhile, so we hope to see you all there. Keep an eye on the schedule for upcoming shows all over the valley. As you all know, Ed and I have another band called The Egomaniacs and we have been talking about doing some more shows this year. So, keep an eye out for a couple of Egomaniacs shows this year. In the meantime, The Egomaniacs are going to be doing a benefit for the soldiers this Saturday at Mardi Gras in Scottsdale. We will start playing between 11:00 and 11:30pm. They are actually asking for item donations at the door. All proceeds will go to buying certain supplies that soldiers don't normally get. Hygiene products, dental floss-tips, socks, chap stick, sunscreen, beef jerky, music, personal items and stuff that raises moral. Any item will be considered as the cover charge. General Dynamics is sponsoring the event. Come out for a great cause and hear The Egomaniacs rock the house. March 9 Well, it has been awhile since we have updated you all, but we have been taking some much needed time off. It is time for us to get back to it though. We head out to Surprise this Friday to rock the Octane Lounge. The Octane has been very good to us over the years and we are looking forward to getting back there. They have a great staff and a very cool vibe! We have a month's worth of energy that has been building up, so this show should be interesting. On Saturday, we are doing a private party, but will be at Hardtailz on Friday, March 27 th. Next month we have some very cool shows for you as well. We have two new venues we will be playing at in the East Valley; Smokey's in Mesa and San Tan Brewing Company in Chandler. We have also been asked back out to play at Jakes O'Mine after the awesome weekend we had there in February. Keep an eye on the schedule for new dates and venues. February 20 We hope you all had a very Happy Valentine's Day. Not one of my favorite holidays, but at least we had a reason to party. We had another great weekend at Hardtailz. Friday was slower than normal, but Saturday more than made up for it. Steve did a fantastic job of filling in on the bass guitar and we had a blast playing with him. On Friday, Will came out and played a few songs with us and helped rock the joint. Marty from Rock Addix was out on Saturday and sang a few as well. The staff was awesome and a big thanks goes to all of you who came out to party! We have the next few weeks off and will return to action on March 13 th at The Octane Lounge in Surprise. In the next few weeks, we have some new clubs we will be playing at so keep an eye on the schedule so you can help us show these new venues how the Angry Nation parties! February 12 It was great to play at Jakes-O-Mine again. We had two nights of great crowds and a lot of fun. It was cool to see so many people who remembered us from before and the people who said they came out to see us for the first time because so many other people were excited about us playing there. Big thanks to Brian for getting us back there for his birthday and also to Margo and her staff for treating us so well. It looks like they want to have us back some more, so we will let you know if and when we get more bookings there. Ed wants to thank everyone who showed up for his birthday! It truly was a great weekend! This coming weekend we will be at Hardtailz! Ed has to take a month sabbatical, so our old bass player, Steve Dreher will be playing in his place. Steve is a great player and a lot of fun. It should make for some really entertaining shows. This will be out last shows for 4 weeks when we return to The Octane Lounge in March, so come out and catch us this Friday & Saturday and let's do a month's worth of partying in one weekend!!! February 4 Well, it's taken me a couple of days to get over what happened in the Super Bowl this past Sunday. Like I said before, I am a 20 year loyal fan and I thought I would be alright with the Cardinals just getting to the big game. I guess if it would have been a blowout I could have dealt better with losing, but because we had the game in our hands and then let it slip away, it really affected me. I am very proud of the way they played and how far they came this year. I know it's just football and it doesn't really affect my everyday life, but I love the cardinals and hopefully this will be the start of a new tradition for them. They played a helluva a game and they can hold their head high. You made Arizona and me very proud!! This weekend is kind of a special one for a few reasons. We will be celebrating my best friends “not quite 40” birthday… ED on Saturday! Come out and give Ed a spank. We will also be celebrating long time fan Brian Kings B-Day and he is really the reason we are going back to the club that started it all for us… Jakes O'Mine! When we started this band, Jakes gave us a chance and really helped get this thing off the ground. We haven't played there since New Years Eve of Y2K and are really looking forward to coming back. Now Brian used to come see us at Jakes and has followed us for 11 years. He had hired us for his private B-Day party, but the venue fell thru and he needed a new place. So, we talked to Jakes and Brian is really responsible for bringing us back there. Brian will also be B-B-Cueing pork in his BBQ trailer that he takes around and sells for different events, but it will be free for his birthday on Saturday. We will be there both Friday & Saturday nights though and hope to see a few of our eastside friends. Jakes is located on Apache Trail in AJ, just west of Ironwood. We will be playing from 9:00pm until 1:00am for these shows, so get there early. We head out to Hardtailz next weekend and keep an eye on the schedule for all upcoming shows. Like I have said in past postings, we are cutting our shows in half this year, so come see us when you can!!! January 23 SUPER BOWL WEEK!!!!! Who is in the Super Bowl again??? Oh Yeah… THE CARDINALS, WHOO HOOOOO! I have been waiting 20 years for this Sunday. I play the Steelers on Madden 09 and won the game, so I know for sure that we will win the game! This past Sunday we went out and did a benefit show for a fellow musician who lost his house in a fire. I didn't know who this person was, but I am always willing to help out a fellow musician in need, just like was done for me when my P.A. was stolen. Well, I came to find out it was a for an old friend and someone I hadn't seen in years. His name is Dave Borshe and he used to be in a band called Future Allies years ago. He is currently in a band called Jaded and this guy is an amazing guitar player. I was so thrilled that we could help him out. It was a cool day and all the other bands were friends of ours as well so we had a great time. We will be playing next at Jakes O'Mine in Apache Junction. This is the club that gave us our first break as a band 11 years ago. The last time we played there was New Year Eve of Y2K. We are really looking forward to this show and it is only East side show we have booked right now until April. We will be celebrating Ed's “not quite 40” birthday on Saturday, along with a long time fan of ours, Brian King. Brian will also be cooling up some really good pork on his b-b-cue in the parking lot on Saturday night. We will be playing Friday and Saturday, February 6 th & 7 th . The shows will start at 9:00pm and the club is located on Apache Trail, just west of Ironwood. We hope to see a lot of our long time friends at this show. January 14 CARDINALS GO TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!! 20 years of pain and suffering finally come to an end for me. I have been a Cards fan since they moved here. I haven't been a “band wagon” guy and have always supported them. This has been an amazing season for me. I have to admit that every week during the play offs, I have doubted every game. It's just habit, but I am thrilled that we pulled this off! I am still having a hard time putting the words “Cardinals” and “Super Bowl” in the same sentence. Anyway, I am so thrilled and very very happy!!! GO CARDS!!!! The Octane show was awesome and we had a great time there. Thanks to everyone, especially the staff! We have a couple of weeks off and will be back at it Feb 6 th & 7 th at Jakes O'Mine in Apache Junction. This is kind of a home coming for us in a way. Jakes was the first club to give us a chance 11 years ago. We haven't played there since New Year's Eve 1999. We are only playing here for one weekend and we will be celebrating a couple of birthdays on that Saturday. One of our oldest fans, Brian King asked us to play for his birthday and is actually responsible for getting us back out to Jakes. He will be also B-B-Cueing pig in the parking lot, so you're going to get some great free food! We will also be celebrating our boy ED”S birthday that night as well. It's Ed's not quite40 B-Day party! This should be a really fun weekend and we are looking forward to playing Jakes again. This is also the only east valley show we have booked at this time. Jakes is located on Apache Blvd, just west of Ironwood in AJ. Keep an eye on the schedule for all upcoming shows!!! We are going to be doing a short set at a benefit for a fellow musician who lost his house to a fire on New Year's Eve. We will be playing Sunday, January 25 th at 5:00pm at Superstition Skies in AJ. Ed and Harley and I will be playing with our ex-drummer Mike for this set. Come down and help a fellow musician in a time of need. 945 E Scenic Street, Apache Junction. GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... January 7 We hope everyone had a great New Years Eve celebration. We want to thank all of you who came out to Hardtailz and brought the New Year in with us. 2008 was certainly an up and down year and we are looking forward to what 2009 has in store for us. This year we are looking at making a few changes. Nothing too dramatic, but we do think these changes will be beneficial to us and to the people who support us. As you all know, there were a couple of member changes this past year. Mike started the year with us and then decided to move on to front his own band and that is when Charlie came back. We also tried to do the two guitar player thing with bringing Harley back on, but then Will decided he wanted to move on and do his own thing so we are back to four members, but both changes included ex-members. I guess you could just call it an Angry Shuffle! So along with these changes, we decided to make a couple more. First of all, we are getting together to pick a bunch of new songs to learn. It's always hard trying to decide what people will want to hear and your feedback is always appreciated. We won't be throwing out all of the songs that we currently do, but we do want to mix it up a bit. So, we will still do your favorites, but we will be adding in some new songs here shortly as well. I think the biggest change this year is going to be our schedule. We are going to be cutting our shows in half so that we can all make more time for our families and other interests. We love playing music, but we have been playing pretty much every weekend for a very long time. The economy is also playing a part in this decision and we will only be playing certain clubs in certain areas of the valley this year as well. It has been sad to see some of our favorite clubs losing money in these hard times and struggling just to stay alive. It is our hope that if we play fewer shows in just a handful of clubs, that it will be easier for you all to support us as well. We truly appreciate all of the support that you have shown us and will continue to make the shows as entertaining as possible with good music and a fun atmosphere. Without you, we don't get to do this and I think I speak for all the guys in the band when I say “We NEED to do play music”. We would also like to thank all of our friends in other bands that have been supportive of us through the years. Phoenix is a rough town to play rock music in. The money isn't very good, there aren't that many good clubs for us to play in and country music seems to rule the roost. I'd like to ask that we all support local music and this coming year in particular. It's going to be a rough one for all the bands and clubs alike. I want to make a few shout outs here to say THANK YOU and recognize some that have been great supports this past year… All the “Angry Bitches” you put up with our shit and we love you for it! Hardtailz, The Blooze, The Octane Lounge, O'Kelley's, Famous Sams, Flicka's Baja Cantina, Cactus Jacks, Pepper's, and all there staffs! Our EGOMANIACS counterparts… Cover Junkies, Rock Addixs and The Craddle Robbers… You all rock and we love you guys! Other bands in town that have supported us… Machine Gun Minky, Michael Nitro, Terashain, Strangeland, 68 Guns, Stone Groove, Wallstreet, Organ Grinder, Harry Brown, Icon, Bang Tango, The Chuck Hall Band, Shut Up and Drive, Rizon, Phat Bastard, Rue Morgue, Krak Smokin Grannies, Jagged, Crooked Head Annie and a couple more I'm sure I have missed. To all of our fans who are too many to name and I really don't want to miss anyone. THANK YOU, THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
