December 27 I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was fantastic and all of the other band members had really good ones as well. On Friday night I had to go out to Hardtailz to hang posters and The Wett was playing, so I thought I would hang out for bit. Low and behold, a little while later, Charlie and his girlfriend Jodi strolled in. They were out celebrating her birthday and decided to stop by. A little while after that, Will and Janelle showed up. So, the guy’s in The Wett, being the class act that they are, invited us all up to play a few songs. There was a good crowd there and every one seemed to be in a festive mood. We had a blast and we appreciate Marty and the boys for allowing us to whore a little bit. Well, it is time once again for our biggest party of the year. This will be our 5 th New Years Eve at The Blooze and we are really looking forward to it. Every year it is a packed house and it just keeps getting bigger and better. We will be there both nights this weekend, so if want to get started a day early then come out Friday and help kick things off a day early! There is no cover on Saturday, but you really might want to come a little early to get a decent seat. There will be a champagne toast at midnight and we would love to ring in the New Year with all of you! Even if your plans don’t include coming out to see us, please be very careful out there this weekend. Not just because of the number of police who will be out, but the reasons why there will be so many police out this weekend. Limos, cabs and designated drivers should be every drinker’s best friend this weekend. That should apply all of the time, but all the nuts will be out this weekend! So… Please be safe! December 20 Well, another great weekend! Our Christmas Party at Cactus Jacks was another great show. We saw lots of friends and everyone had a rocking good time! We were also celebrating Will’s B-Day that night and he appreciated all of your support, kind words and shots! Thanks to Sammy from the band Legend for coming out and showing the love, especially to Will. We also met some new people and the staff was just awesome. On Saturday we played a brand new club for us, Tailgaters. We weren’t sure what to expect, but it was a great night as well. The place had a great vibe and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We made A LOT of new friends and the owner, Scott from the band “3rd Degree” got up on drums for 3 songs. We also want to send out a special Thank You to Ed’s friend Alan from Fender and the band Uncle Mike, who came out both nights and sat in with us. This guy is a kick ass guitar player! Anyway… We had a great weekend at both clubs and look forward to getting back to both of them! We are off this coming weekend so that we can all spend time with our families & friends for Christmas. We will be closing out the year at the same club we have closed out every other year for the past four… The Blooze. We will be there both Friday and Saturday night for our huge New Years Extravaganza! This is the blow out party of the year and truly not to be missed. I will write more on that next week. Myself, Ed, Will & Charlie all want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and hope that it will be a good one for all of you and please be safe! December 13 I think I am still hung over! What a weekend! We just had two huge nights in a row at Blooze. We started it out on Friday night celebrating Tumbleweed and Charlie’s birthdays. The place was packed from the start and by the time we took the stage, the crowd was ready to go! We surprised Charlie in the first set by bringing his Mom out. She and I have been going back and forth about surprising him for a couple of months and he was definitely surprised. They hadn’t seen each other for a year and it was really cool. When Tumbleweed got there, he headed right up to the stage and brought shots with him, so we toasted him and Charlie. Weed even got Chuckies Mom up on stage as well. We all then proceeded to tear it up the rest of the night. It’s a good thing Eden was there or else I would have been staying the night at the bar. Saturday night was just as fun. A couple of us were pretty hung over, but we had a couple of more friends to celebrate B-Days with. Eric from The Wett came out with his posse to celebrate his 42nd and our good friend and big supporter, Karen was also on hand to celebrate the big FOUR OHHH! There seemed to be b-days all over the place this weekend, so we did our best to help those people celebrate as well. Apparently March is the un-official month of sex! We had a great time and the crowds were nothing short of amazing! We will be back there New Years Eve weekend! This coming weekend we have a lot going on as well. Not only is it the annual Angry Jon Christmas Party at Cactus Jacks, we are also celebrating Will’s birthday that night. He has sworn me to secrecy and threatened my life if I tell his age, so you’ll have to try to get it out if him. So, come out and help us celebrate Will’s life with us. On Saturday, we will be at a new club for us out on the west side of town. The place is called Tailgaters! It is on Bell road and about 61 st Avenue. We went out there a couple of months ago to check out The Wett and ended up getting booked. If we have a good showing, they will bring us back. It’s a very wide-open club and they have great food. (Especially if you like onion rings. They were the best I have had!) We need your help showing another club what they have been missing! December 6 Our gig on Friday was cancelled, but I did go over to Cactus Jacks to hang posters. Our buddies from 68 Guns were playing, so I stuck around for a while and even sang a song with them. Big thanks to them for getting me up. It was cool to see a bunch of friends as well, outside of a gig. Saturday night was a humdinger at Iguana Macks. The place full all night and the vibe was awesome. Everyone was in a party mood. We hadn’t played in a couple of weeks either, so we were really ready to go as well! We saw a couple of friends… ex-member Brent and his lovely wife Deborah and from the Egomaniacs daze, John Bentley showed up and jammed a couple of songs as well. There isn’t much for a dance floor there, but people just made one. It was a lot fun and we are looking forward to getting back there in January. November 28 We hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday! My kids were here and I even got lights hung on the house. We had our annual Thanksgiving Party at my house and got to share some good memories with friends and family. We took some pictures of the night we are sharing with you all on the photo page. The only weird part was doing it this year without Ed who went back east to spend the week with his family. But we missed him so much that we built a “Replica Ed” out of empty beer cans, Jager bottles, cigarette packs and the turkey carcass. Everyone took turns saying Edism’s and it was almost like he was really there! Except, that his girlfriend wasn’t there, so no one got bitten. We are happy to be back at it this coming weekend. Some of you may have noticed that we removed the Waterfront date that we had for this Friday, because they have new owners and they are going thru a re-model and will re-open soon. But, the good news is that we are back at Iguana Mack’s this Saturday. It has been a couple of months since our last show there and we are really looking forward to getting back. As always, we fire it up at about 9:30 and rock ya till they SHUT IT DOWN! This has been a really good club for us and we hope to see you all there this Saturday. Next weekend we get back to Blooze and we will be partying! We will be celebrating the owner Tumbleweed and our boy Charlie’s birthdays! Last year was a mega ho down and we expect this one to be better! We understand that our original FOTM, Karen will be celebrating her birthday with us that weekend as well. This will be one not to be missed! November 21 I would like to start out by wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Please be careful if you are traveling and say “HI” to your Mom for me. I would now like to thank everybody who came out or participated in the Hurricane Relief Benefit this past Saturday. It was definitely a success and it was a great show as well. All of the bands really stepped up and did their parts with a lot of class! A BIG thanks to… The Big Ass Band, Adam McGraw and Poison Whiskey, Midway, Cadillac Angels, Spill Monkey, Level, Whiskey Farm and Terashain! You guys all rocked and we appreciate you for what you did! To Dallas and Ben and all of the staff… you guys did a helluva job keeping it together and pulling off a great event. To all of the people who came out and spent your money at a time of year that isn’t the best, thank you the most! We ended up raising close to $4000.00 and had good time doing it. One other person that also deserves big props is our own Will Pierce. He was there from the very beginning to the very end, running sound and helping to manage the bands and the stage. I was the one who volunteered, but Will was all about, “what do you need and what time do I need to be there?” I would love to list out everyone’s name that was involved or helped out, but that would just take too long. You know who you are and we love you!!! We have decided that this coming year, we will be holding our “Angry Against AIDS benefit at Cactus Jacks as well, probably sometime in May. We are of this weekend to enjoy time with our families, but we will be back at the following weekend. Actually... On Wednesday night, some of us will be going up to The Blooze to get the weekend going. Last year we started a tradition there with what is now an annual Thanksgiving Eve show at Blooze. This year The Wett will be playing and I’m sure it will be a great time. So, come down and party with us Wednesday, November 23rd at The Blooze. November 14 Not much to report from this past weekend. Since we didn’t play we all just did our own thing. Will locked himself in his car by accident and tried calling AAA to come and get him out, but they were backed up, so he just waited for a few hours until they got there. When they finally got there, he was so mad after waiting for so long that he busted out the window and screamed “WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG?” Charlie was arrested for selling pot to old people at the retirement center… AGAIN! As they were hauling him off, he was heard saying, “Old people need to get high too!” Ed stayed in all weekend. Apparently the religious cult that he used to belong to found out where he lives now and they set up camp outside his door. We understand that late Sunday night his girlfriend finally went out and had a group therapy session with them and convinced them to all move to Mexico and open dog taco stands in Rocky Point! I just spent the weekend with my grandbaby. It was a little frustrating though. I was trying to teach her how to vacuum and do the dishes, but she just wasn’t getting it. Nine months should be plenty old! See what happens when we don’t get to play music at least once a week? This weekend we are back it and it is going to be a very busy weekend for us. We will be at Cactus Jacks both Friday and Saturday, but for two entirely different shows. On Friday night we will be playing our normal four sets and partying with you all. That should be an interesting show, since none of us have played in a couple of weeks and were all jonesing a little bit. We will be back there Saturday, but for the Hurricane Relief Benefit. I will be MC’ing the event all day and night. The first band kicks off at 10:30am and that band will feature Ed and Myself with Our original guitar player, Dave Townsend. We will play for 45 minutes after which nine other bands will proceed to entertain you, including Angry Jon at 10:45pm. You can see the flier with all of the band and activity information on the schedule page. Just click on the “blue” benefit relief tab, for more information. It’s going to be a great night for a great cause. There is a $10.00 cover to get in with all proceeds going to The Salvation Army. That is a $1.00 a band… WADDA BAAAAGIN! November 8 I think the drought is finally over! It has been a little slower at the clubs since the August, but the last two weekends have been great. We had another busy weekend at Hardtailz. Both nights kicked ass and it just seems like peoples moods get so much better when the weather cools off. The dance floor was cookin both nights and everyone just seemed like they were in a party mood. Hardtailz has been very good to us and we want to send a big thanks to Bob and the staff for making it another awesome weekend! We won’t be back to Hardtailz until January, but we will be back on that side of town in December for Tumbleweeds B-Day at Blooze and then again for New Years Eve! We have this coming weekend off, but we are getting ready for a big weekend at Cactus Jacks. We will be there on Friday, November 18th for our normal show and then we will be back the next day for a Hurricane Relief Benefit Show. There will be 10 bands, great food, raffles and prizes with all proceeds going to The Salvation Army. Ed and I will start the day out with a little side project that we are affectionately calling “The Big Ass Band” (AKA… Special Ed and the Short Bus Drivers) also with our original guitar player, Dave Townsend and our buddy Ed Cini whom Dave and I work with. Angry Jon will be playing that night at 10:45. You can get more details by going to the schedule page and clicking on the info for that show. I will also be MC’ing the event all day and night. It is going to be a great time for a great cause. There will be a $10.00 cover to get in on Saturday, but well worth the money! Get all show information on the schedule page and keep an eye out for new shows and venues to be added. November 1 CAN WE DO THAT AGAIN THIS WEEKEND????? Blooze was simply amazing this past weekend! Friday night was a great night and Saturday night we just blew the roof off the house! The band strolled out to the theme song from Barney in our baby costumes and got the party started. There were a lot of great costumes. The first place winner of the costume contest was our first Fan of the Month, Karen and her husband Ace! I'm not sure what to call their costumes other than something straight out of National Geographic! (Check out the pictures) Cangrat's to them! Everyone looked great and it was just an amazing party! We had a special guest band, straight from the 80's come out and play a few tunes. SEX FARM (a.k.a. The Wett) rocked the house! They took us all back to the spandex, leather, big hair days of yore! Thanks to those guy's! A big Happy Birthday and 10 years “clean” Anniversary to the man who got us started at the Blooze over 5 years ago… Vinny! We're proud of you and keep it going! Tumbleweed, Alaina and the staff were once again, second to none! Thanks to everyone who came down. If you were there, than you can see why we love The Blooze! Our next show at Blooze will be on December 9 th & 10 th to celebrate Tumbleweeds B-Day. And then, we will be there again on New Years Eve! It is very rare that we get to play the Northwest side of town, two weekends in a row. Well, this is one of those times. We will be at Hardtailz this coming weekend. This is another great venue for us. We haven't had a bad show there yet. We will be there both Friday and Saturday night's and we hope to see you all there. This will be our last show at Hardtailz until January! They have food and a great staff that is always good to our crowds and us. We don't have many shows booked in November, so take advantage of a great club and the weather doesn't suck either! October 25 The Waterfront actually turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We had a decent crowd early and they stayed through most of the night. They were a fun, loud crowd and we had a great time. We never know what to expect when we play there, but this may have been our best night there. Our old guitar slinger, Harley and his wife Wendy showed up and politely threw peanuts at us all night. I feel sorry for whoever had to clean that stage at the end of the night. Thanks to Barry and the staff for a fun night! We will be back there in December. This weekend is the BIG HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY at Blooze. This will be our third straight Halloween at Blooze and they have been outrageous parties every time. There will be a costume contest with prize money, so get creative! We will be there both nights with the costume party on Saturday. We have our costumes and you know how conservative we are when it comes to occasions such as this. We really hope to see you there! Keep an eye on the schedule. We have some great shows coming up that you will not want to miss. We have actually added a couple of new shows before the end of the year, capped off with New Years Eve at Blooze! October 11 The show at The Waterfront was better this time. We had a pretty good crowd and it was easier to get this going. We saw a few friends and an old friend Marty, from the bands Muscle and Pete and the Shortcummings was there and we got him up to sing a handful of songs. The band seemed a little off that night, but with my allergies still haunting me and Ed being sick and avoiding throwing up all night, we had a pretty good night. We will actually be back there in on Saturday, October 22 nd for another round. October 4 It was nice to get back out to the other side of town. Hardtailz is always good for us and this weekend was no exception. We had two good nights and we got to see our “other side of the tracks” friends. We played four new songs that seemed to go over really well and except for the fact that my voice gave out pretty bad due to allergies, the shows were a lot of fun. Thanks to Marty from The Wett for bailing me out a few times vocally and to Eric for getting up and playing bass on a few songs, even one we threw at him! Thanks to Jeff from Will’s original band for getting up on the drums. I love it when other musicians come out. It a lot of fun for us and it gives the crowd something different as well. Thanks to Dave, Bob and the whole staff for treating us well and making our shows there, a real pleasure. We will be back at The Waterfront this coming Friday. The last time we were there it was kind of dead, but it was a Saturday and were hoping for a better turn out this time. It’s a pretty cool place and they have decent food. Besides, were there! Come out and get your weekend started off the right way in Chandler. September 27 What a blast! We had a great night at Iguana Macks. The place filled up at about 9:30pm and they just kept coming. The crowd stayed with us the whole night. The energy in the room was great! A big thanks to Jilly, Pete, Orcaman and their crew from coming out and also to Shawn, who runs sound for 68 Guns sometimes, who got up and threw down on bass guitar. Will’s friend Bob also got up on bass and rocked some AC/DC! We had a great time and we look forward to getting back there in December! This weekend we head out to the other side of town to play at Hardtailz! This is a great club for us. Big room, big sound, big crowds! We even rehearsed (that’s right… we rehearsed) four new songs to debut this weekend. They sounded great in rehearsal; we shall see what happens by Friday. They are located on the Southwest corner of 35 th Avenue and Bell road in the shopping plaza behind Burger King. We will also be video taping this weekend for our promo DVD and also for my audition tape for next years Rock Star on ABC! So, come on out and help us make this a great video! We will be having our annual Blooze Halloween Costume Party on Saturday, October 29 th and we will also be there that Friday as well for a warm up party. Check the schedule for all other up-coming shows. Also… I have been threatening to try to put together a Hurricane Relief Benefit show, but wasn’t getting anywhere, until today. Cactus Jacks contacted me with the same idea. So, I will be meeting with them this week to nail out details and bands. It will be an all day event with a lot of great local bands, including Angry Jon. I will also be MCing the event. We should have more details by next week! September 20 I am assuming that there was free beer being served by Playboy models somewhere this past Saturday night, because not many people were at The Waterfront! It was a pretty slow night. Saturdays are typically slower anyway, but this was really slow. We had a good time anyway and we appreciate those of you who did show up. Things should start picking back up now that summer is over and everyone is back in school. We figured everyone was just saving up for this coming weekend. We will be back at Iguana Mack’s on Saturday night. This has become a really fun place to play. There is always a big crowd and there always seems to be a lot of pretty people there! The staff has been really good to us and they have some great food. You really need to get there kinda early to get a decent place to sit to see the band, but the vibe is pretty cool. They are located on Alma School & Knox, between Warner and Ray. We have a lot of really good, fun shows coming up in the next few weeks, so check out the schedule and the rest of the website for all of the information you need about Angry Jon and make sure that you make your plans now to join us on October 29 th at The Blooze for our annual Halloween Costume Party! It is a blast every year! September 12 THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all really made my birthday a great time! Friday night we had a decent crowd and everyone there was having a good time and so did we. It was a little weird because we really didn’t see any of our regulars, but we met some really cool new people. Saturday night was a Blast! All of our regulars showed up to help me celebrate and we still met a few new people. The room had a lot of energy and people were dancing from start to finish. I want to THANK all of you who brought cards and presents. That was very sweet and much appreciated. Somehow, I always end up leaving my B-Day parties at Blooze every year with at least 3 bottles of Jager and this year was no different. I am stocked up once again! The guy’s in the band and also Tumbleweed, all pitched in to help pay for the tattoo work I am getting done. A few others kicked in as well and I now have my tattoo almost paid for. That is exactly what I wanted and I can’t thank them enough. I would to thank everyone individually for the gifts and cards, but that would take up the whole page. You all know who you are and know that you are loved. I want to send out a Happy Birthday to Lil Debbie and Renata, who were there this weekend celebrating their B-Days with me as well. You all made it a great weekend and a B-Day to remember! Blooze is always so good to us and the crowds are the best! We will be back at Blooze at the end of October for our Halloween costume Party! Check the website for more details as we get closer. This weekend we are only playing one night. We will be at The Waterfront in Chandler on Saturday night the 17 th. We have been having some really good shows here and we expect to have another one on Saturday. I would recommend getting there at a decent time, if you want a decent seat. I figure we can just continue my B-Day celebrations on the east side of town.. September 2 We hope that everyone had a happy & safe Labor Day weekend. We know that a lot of people avoided going out of town because of the gas prices and because of the mood from what’s going on along the Gulf Coast, but I’m not sure they were going to the bars either. Friday night was better than we expected. It wasn’t exceptional, but it did give us hope for Saturday night. That didn’t translate so well though, Saturday was really slow. The crowds were really responsive both nights though. We want to thank Jilly for dancing on stage (and falling off of it) on Friday night and serving us our drinks on Saturday night. The Angry Jon Taxi service made sure she got home all right and we were happy to do it, since she was the “Fun Liaison” on Friday. You rock Jilly! Thanks to everyone else who came out and to all the new people we met… We hope to see you again very soon. This coming weekend should be a doosy! We are back at Blooze and we will be celebrating Jon’s Birthday! This will be Jon’s 3 rd year in a row celebrating his birthday at Blooze and they are always a blowout, a party not to be missed! We will be celebrating both nights, but mainly on Saturday night. (His B-day is the 11 th, so at midnight Saturday it will be official) Let’s just make it one big drunken… have you seen my bra… is this Friday or Saturday… my wife is going to kill me… four condoms… is that a birthday hat or are you just happy to see me… how did these streamers get in my underwear… dumpster sex… I need some Advil… waking up with legwarmers on and a t-shirt that say “Frankie says RELAX”… Thank God it is September… kind of birthday party weekend at The Blooze! August 25 That was kinda cool playing both sides of town in the same weekend! It was a lot of driving and setting up, but still a lot of fun. We struggled a little musically on Friday night. I had been fighting my allergies all day and had to push a bit, but we had a great time. People were in a party mood and we love when they respond early in the night. Iguana Mack’s was a little slower than usual, but it was a very receptive crowd as well. August is always a crapshoot, with school starting up, vacations being wrapped up and the monsoons winding down. And never mind that it has been 147 degrees outside. September always starts to pick up again. We start seeing the crowds getting bigger and as the heat wears away, more lively! It might just be me, but it seemed like this summer was really bad inside the bars. I guess no-ones air-conditioning was working right his year. Labor Day weekend is upon us and is kind of the un-official marker for the summer to start winding down. The sun starts going down sooner, the temps start there slow decent and it is the last chance for a three day weekend until Thanksgiving. We usually try to avoid playing the long, three-day weekends because a lot of people head out of town or just want to hang out at home with family and B-B-Cue. That’s all good, but somehow we managed to book two nights this weekend. So, we would love to have you come out and party with us. We will be at cactus Jacks on Friday Night and O’Kelley’s on Saturday Night. If your not heading out of town or if you have family in town that you want to show a good time to (or just avoid) come party with us. The best thing about coming out to see Angry Jon this weekend is that you get an extra day to recuperate! August 16 Blooze was once again a blast! Friday night was a little slow, but Saturday more than made up for it. Friday night we saw our friends from Flagstaff, Mike and Angela and their crew. The crew from The Wett came by and Marty got up for tune. Priscilla and Larry came down from Tucson along with a few other friends that helped make the night fun. Saturday was a blowout! The place was rocking right from the start and people stayed all night long. Happy Birthday once again to my girl Eden, her Mom Carmen and to our good friend Kristine. It was quite the party and they all had a good time. We saw lots friends and familiar faces and you guys really made our weekend. Thanks to Steve and Rusty from Whisper Alley for coming out and getting up for a couple of songs. Dave our original guitar player threw down a couple as well. We appreciate everyone’s support. A big THANKS goes to Tumbleweed and the staff! They always kick ass! The next time we are Blooze will be for my B-Day Bash the weekend of September 9 th & 10 th. This will be my 3 rd year celebrating it there and I couldn’t think of a better place. We will also be there in December for Tumbleweeds B-Day and again on New Years Eve, which is always a huge, unforgettable party! We are off this coming weekend. We are having a party at our house; so I’m sure we will have some interesting pictures to put up next week, so check back for that. We will be playing again the following weekend and we are splitting the valley. On Friday, August 26 th we will be playing at Hardtailz. We just picked this show up to help out Dave the owner, but we were more than happy to do it, this is one of our favorite clubs. On Saturday, August 27 th, we are back at Iguana Mack’s! This place is a lot of fun and the house is full every time. I have to say that there are not a lot of ugly people who go there either. So, the last weekend of the month we get to play for our fans on both sides of town. You gotta love that! August 9 You gotta love the tag line for The Waterfront “The Wet Spot of Chandler”! We had a great time there on Friday night. We even got to see some friends who we haven’t seen in a very long time. Thanks to everyone who showed up and as always, thanks to those who sent up drinks. It’s never easy getting used to a new member in the band, but Will has been doing a great job and every week it gets better and better. We will be back there next month. On Saturday night we went out to Blooze to hang some posters and check out our buddies in the band 68 Guns. You may know Scott the bass player from our Bulletin Board as Mad Dwarf. They rocked the house and they got us all up to play a couple of songs. Charlie wasn’t there so their drummer, Rick, played with us and did a kick ass job. The band sounded good and it was cool to party with friends on a night off. Thanks guys! Speaking of Blooze, we will be there this coming weekend! It is always a treat when we can back to Blooze. This weekend is going to be extra cool because we will be celebrating my Girl, Eden’s Birthday on Saturday night. We will also be celebrating our friend Christine’s and Eden’s Mom, Carmen’s Birthdays also! It should be a killer weekend! You never who will stop by or what tomfoolery we might engage in! So come out, have a drink and a dance and remember… Come party with us, never at us! August 2 It is a lot of work to play two different clubs in the same weekend, but the cool thing about it is two, completely different crowds. We haven't had a slow night in months and we have all of you guy's to thank for that. Lately, the reactions have been great and the clubs busy. Everyone seems to really like the addition of Will and he says he is having a blast. Thanks to everyone who came out. We saw a few old friends this weekend. Joe from Powerslave came out and sang one with us. Fitz from KUPD was out Friday and was singing Brick House (badly) on the break. PJ from KDKB was out celebrating his B-Day with us. On Saturday we celebrated Tanya's B-Day with dinner at Iguana Mack's (which I have to say was excellent) right before the show. Three of our former guitar players were at the show Harley, Dave and Brent! Thanks to Harley and Dave for playing and sorry we didn't get you up Brent, but for sure next time! We are booked at both places next month, so check the schedule for dates. This weekend we are invading Chandler once again. We will be at The Waterfront on Friday night. We had a great show there the last time and we are really looking forward to this one as well. They are located on the Southeast corner of Ray and Dobson. We hit it at about 9:30pm and we hope to see you there. We will be back at Blooze the following weekend and we will be celebrating Eden and Christine's B-Days on that Saturday. It is always a party at The Blooze, so make your plans! The Bulletin Board has been getting a lot of action lately, so be sure you stop by and get in on the action. The topics usually start out about one thing, but end going somewhere completely different. At the least, it is interesting and we would love to hear from you all. You don't have register, but it is encouraged and once you get used to the way it works, it can be a lot of fun. July 25 I want to thank everyone who came out and partied with The Egomaniacs this past Saturday! It was a bittersweet night, but all in all it was good. Ed and I have really enjoyed playing with these guys’s. We had a lot of people tell us that we should keep it going and do more shows. We might in the future, but it has become very difficult to balance the schedules. It is a lot of work to keep one band going, let alone two and we kept The Egomaniacs going for over two years. It was great to see the support and so many familiar faces. Thanks to Stephen from Group Therapy for taking on Ozzy for me! Thanks to Will for getting up on guitar for a couple of songs. Thanks to my buddy Pat for getting up for a part of a song (sorry bud, that wasn’t my call to snatch the mic from you). Thanks to Joe for finishing that song. Thanks to Dave Townsend (Angry Jon’s original guitar player) for pulling a couple of songs out of your ass at the end of the night. We tried to get Scott from 68 Guns up on Bass, but he had too many shots out of his sippy cup to play. Thanks to the many fans that have supported all of the bands involved in this project. But most of all, Ed and I want to thank the guy’s in the band Steve, Mike and John. It has been a blast playing with these guy’s! They are all good friends and I love them all like brothers! I would encourage everyone to go and check out their other bands. One last shout out to our original drummer fro Ego, Darrell White. We may not have started this band without his help and input. You can see him in the band Legend. Pictures from the show are on this website, as well as www.theegomaniacs.com ... This coming weekend, Angry Jon kicks it back into gear with two shows to pick from. On Friday night we will be at Cactus Jacks in Ahwatukee. This has been a great venue for us and we always see a lot of friends. On Saturday night we will be at Iguana Mack’s in Chandler. This is a very fun club. There are a lot of people and the place is always full. It should be another fun filled angry weekend. We hope to see you one of these nights! July 18 HARDTAILZ ROCKED! We had another two full nights at Hardtailz. It is such a great vibe out there. We had a lot of fun and the crowds were just awesome. Will first weekend with us went really well. Friday night, he was a little nervous but he did a great job. Saturday night he took the gloves off and it was on! We had a lot of people tell us that he was a perfect addition to the band and that he fits in perfectly. It was little tough getting the sound right on Friday with adding Will’s rig and Ed’s new bass rig, but by Saturday, people were telling us that it was the best that we ever sounded. We want to thank Marty and Eric from The Wett for coming out with their whole crew and getting up for a couple of songs. We also want to thank Dave from Terashain for coming out and playing with us. Marty and Dave did The Trooper by Iron Maiden and it really kicked ass! Happy Birthday to Robin and a big thanks for the many, many, many, many shots that found their way to the stage. We are really excited about the new line up and we can’t wait to see it grow. This weekend, mine and Ed’s other band “The Egomaniacs” will be playing our last show at O’Kelley’s in Mesa. If you haven’t seen this band yet, this is your last chance. The band includes members from other popular cover bands here in the valley. Steve Favella from Whisper Alley, John Bentley formerly of Lost Dog &Throttle and Mike Whitman from Innuendo. We do a lot of 80’s rock and we always have a great time. I am sure there will be a lot people out for this show, so you may want to get there early if you want a good seat or if you have a group of people coming. Angry Jon will be back at it again the following weekend at Cactus Jacks and Iguana Mack’s. Make sure you check out the website for all of the changes that have been made recently and stop by the Bulletin Board and let us know what you think. You can usually find something interesting on there. July 11 A weekend off ... I HATE THOSE! I would play every weekend if I could, but that's not always possible. I guess it was good time to have a weekend off, being that we are making a guitar player change right now. We did get together and rehearse with Will over the weekend, but you all know how much I hate rehearsing. I always say “We are the laziest, hardest working band in the Valley, because we play all the time and never rehearse”. We definitely needed to so that Will can get used to the way that we do our songs and also so that we can used to him. But, the real meshing comes from playing shows together. We have done our part and now we just need to get out there in front of all of you and throw it down. Will is excited and can't wait for this weekend. We are really looking forward to playing with Will and feel like you will all be very pleased with this version of Angry Jon. This weekend we will be playing at Hardtailz both Friday and Saturday nights. We have had some great shows out there and we are sure this weekend will be kick ass! it's a big room, the staff is great and we always see a lot of friends when we play there. We know of one birthday this weekend, the one, the only…Red Dress! Some of you will know her from her entries on the Bulletin Board and some may know her by her pictures. I guess I am to blame for her nickname, but the first time we saw her, she was wearing a red dress. I know that a lot of you are planning on coming out this weekend and I would suggest getting there early if you want a prime seat. We are also almost out of T-Shirts and we probably won't be getting anymore for awhile, so if you want one, you might want to get it this weekend. Next Saturday July 23rd, Ed's and my other band “The Egomaniacs” will be playing our last show at O'Kelley's in Mesa. We would love to continue this project, but too many things have gotten in the way and we have decided to step away from it. In the future, we may throw something together here and there with guys, but for now everyone is concentrating on their own bands. Make sure you come and catch our last show! It should be very interesting. That website is www.theegomaniacs.com. Check it out for more information on that band. July 5 We hope everyone had a great 4 th of July. It was nice to have the three-day weekend, but it was a busy one for us. Friday night we played at The Waterfront for the first time in a year and a half and it was a great show. It was Paul’s last show with us and we had a great crowd to send him off with. He played a couple of acoustic songs by himself to start the night and then we all rolled together. The crowd was great and eventually the dance floor got busy. The staff was great also and we will be back there next month. (More on Paul in this weeks thought). Saturday was a very long day. We got together with Will and rehearsed for the whole afternoon. We got thru a lot of songs and we have one more rehearsal before his first show with us at Hardtailz on July 15 th. We don’t envy his position. He has 52 songs swimming around in his head and trying to remember which one is which isn’t fun, but he is really looking forward to his first show. After rehearsal, we had a B-B-Cue at Wills house. We had a few friends there and the food was awesome. We ate, swam, drank and laughed a lot. It was a very relaxed good time with no extra issues or attitudes. It was very nice. Later in the evening we decided to go over and check out our friends The Wett playing at Blooze. They have come to a lot of our shows and we really wanted to return the favor. We all walked in pretty lit up and they were already in party mode, so it was a great time. They were cool about us taking over their stage. We all got up there, including Steve from Whisper Alley and rocked a few songs. It was a great ending to a great day. THANKS GUYS! The pictures tell a pretty interesting story from the whole weekend, so check those out as well. We will be off this coming weekend, but we will be rehearsing one last time. We want to get things tied up as much as possible with Will before we hit the stage, but we are all excited. A change in the band is always a pain in the ass, but we are looking forward to working with Will and his attitude has been great and he is really excited about it. As I have already mentioned, our next shows will be at Hardtailz on July 15 th & 16 th. We have been having some great shows there as of late and with Will’s debut, we expect two busy nights. June 27 It had been a couple of months since we have played at O’Kelley’s and it was good to get back. Every summer the crowds in the bars get a little slimmer, but this summer we have seen some real consistent crowds. We want to thank everyone who came out. Once again we saw quite a few friends and made a couple of new ones. Thanks to Dave Townsend, our original guitar player, who came up and played song with Will and everyone else who showed up and stuck around. We won’t be back to O’Kelley’s until September 3 rd, but Ed and I have an Egomaniacs gig there on July 23 rd. It will probably be the last Egomaniacs show, so come check it out! This Friday we will be at The Waterfront. This will also be Paul’s farewell show. We expect a big crowd, so if you want a good seat, you may want to show up early. We want this to be a celebration, so lets fill the joint. This is also our first time back in over a year and a half. They are located in the strip mall on the Southeast corner of Dobson and Ray and they have a great menu, if you’re hungry. Our website has been going thru a few changes as you might have seen. We have switched servers and it is going to take Ed awhile to get all of the pictures back up. He will be doing a few a day until it’s done. We will also be putting up our next “Fan of the Month” soon, so check back often for all the updates and changes. June 20 WOW, WOW, WOW and WOW!!! What a weekend. You people flat out ROCK. (Except the one idiot who signed the bulletin board, who apparently has a third grade writing level and no balls!) We had two amazing nights at The Blooze this weekend. The place was full both nights and the energy level was awesome. I want to thank Tumbleweed once again for being such a cool guy. Thanks for getting up and singing and playing your harp and for being a great friend and host! We had many special guests’ drop by. Thanks to Marty and the crew from The Wett. (Sorry we couldn’t get you up, but Weed threw of timing off a bit) Thanks to David who is the singer from the band “Thieves of the Temple” for getting up and playing some guitar and singing. It looks like we will be opening for them at the Blooze on July 25 th if everything works out. We’ll keep you posted! It was Rusty and Steve from the band Whisper Alley’s B-day. They got up and did a couple of songs with Lisa and their old drummer Scott. (Thanks to Steve for being so drunk that he fell down and had to start the song over.) We also want to send out a “Special Thanks” our new friend, Fitz the afternoon DJ from KUPD for coming out. He was incognito on Saturday night, probably on the prowl looking for his “Gold Digger” and wanted to stay under the radar. You can catch Fitz in the afternoons between 2:00 and 7:00pm. Once in awhile you will even here me on his voice mails that he plays at about 4:20 every afternoon. Check out his doings at www.98kupd.com. He has some pretty cool pictures of the stuff he has pulled on the air and the ladies in his Gold Digger contest. Thanks to all of our friends and family who came out in support this past weekend. We do not take you for granted! This coming weekend we will be playing at O’Kelley’s. We haven’t been here in awhile and expect a great night. It is also Paulie’s second to last show with us, so come and check him out before he leaves. O’Kelley’s has been real good to us so let’s pack the place and show them what the Angry Nation is made of! June 14 It is a little bit of a pain in the ass to do two shows at two different clubs in two nights, All of the loading and unloading. The setting up and breaking down, but what makes it worthwhile is if the shows themselves are good ones. Well, we did have two shows this past weekend and they were both pretty kick ass! I was definitely worn out come Sunday, but I am not complaining. Cactus Jacks was a full house and we had lot’s of dancers and people ready to party. We saw some friends from the band Group Therapy who stopped by for a beer and some kind words. Joe from the band Level got up and sang a song. Rich from The Krak Smokin Grannies was out and an old friend Gary Lee who used to be in JT Ripper stopped in and played a couple of songs on the guitar with us. We also saw a lot of friends and we had a great time. Iguana Mack’s is fast becoming on of our favorite clubs. The house was packed and everyone was in a party mood. There were too many beautiful people to even try to count. We got a lot of compliments and they are looking forward to our show there next month. This weekend it’s back to BLOOZE! Our favorite club to play. It’s always a party and we always have a good time. If you haven’t been out to Blooze yet, you need to come check it out. We always have a lot of friends and the staff is awesome. The owner, Tumbleweed is one of the coolest human beings I know. We will be there both Friday and Saturday nights and hope to see you too. This will be Paul’s last weekend with us at Blooze I’m sure he would love to see you all. Paul has three weekends left with us. Will has been working hard to get up to speed with the songs. He will be playing a few songs with us this weekend. Come and witness the transition for yourselves. June 7 Hardtailz Rocked!!!! Thanks to everyone who came out. We saw lots of friends and familiar faces. It is always a little bit of a crap shoot when you play two nights in a row at the same club, but this weekend was really good both nights. Of course, the curse of hangover Saturday got things rolling a little later on Saturday, but we did get there. We want to thank the guys from The Wett and their crew for coming out and jamming a few tunes. Marty has a hell of a voice and on top of that, he’s a hulluva nice guy. We will be back at Hardtailz in July and that will be Will’s first full weekend as our new guitar player. This weekend we both nights at two different clubs. On Friday were at our old East Valley standby, Cactus Jacks in Ahwatukee. Great staff, great food and always a great crowd! On Saturday night we will be back at Iguana Mack’s in Chandler. This will be our second weekend there and we are really looking forward to it. This is a really kick ass club with lot’s of beautiful people to gawk at! It will be a very cool weekend! Remember, Paul is only with us for about 4 more weekends, so come out and let him know what a kick ass job he has done for us and show him your love! May 31 We hope you all had a safe and fun Memorial Day! It was nice to have the three day weekend. We did actually play a gig this past weekend, but it was a private party. We want to thank Kari for hooking us up with that. Ed was out of town on vacation, so our friend Andy Watts from the band Innuendo filled in on Bass Guitar once again and did a great job. The party was a lot of fun! We played at a house in North Scottsdale, under the patio. Luckily the weather cooperated. It got pretty windy at one point, but no rain. There were about 250 people there and we got many, many compliments. I had quite a few people ask for our name and number for future parties and events. This coming weekend we will be out at Hardtailz. We have been having some really good shows out there and we are sure this will be another great weekend. This will also be Paul’s last shows at Hardtailz. He has about 4 weeks left with us and we encourage everyone to come out and let him know what a great job he has done for us. Our new guitar player Will, will be out at the next few shows taking notes and playing a few songs here and there as he prepares to take over when Paul leaves. We have a full schedule this month, so there are multiple opportunities to come out and party with us. We will be all over the valley this month, so I’m sure we will be near you at some point. We look forward to seeing you. May 17 It was kinda weird on Friday night, Ed showed up to play! We were glad to have him back. He hadn’t played in a month and we weren’t sure he was going to remember how. But, he did and we had a lot of fun. This time the crowds were better and over all I think it went really well. Friday night, Marty from The Wett brought his crew in to help celebrate his B-day and they got up and did a couple of songs. Saturday night Pierce showed up and threw down some songs with us and did a great job. They brought a really good crowd with them and it was a fun time. We appreciate everyone who came out. We saw quite a few friends and that is always a bonus! We aren’t currently booked back out to Shenanigans yet, but they want us back and we gave them a couple of dates that we are available, so were just waiting to hear back from them. We are going to be in Ahwatukee this Saturday at one of our favorites, Cactus Jacks! We are usually there on Fridays, but this week turned out different and I’m not sure, but I guess it doesn’t matter, I’ll just have to go get drunk with some other band on Friday night so Hangover Saturday will feel normal! We kick it at 9:30 and look forward to seeing you all! We will be starting our “Fan of the Month” very soon, so keep an eye on the website for that and all other changes and updates. We have been doing a lot of different things on the site and the Bulletin Board has been getting really good use……Keep it up! May 10 I want to start this week by sending out a HUGE THANK YOU to Andy Watts from the band Innuendo for filling in on bass guitar Saturday night. He did a great job and we really appreciated his efforts. You can check out his bands website on our links page. We had a fantastic night at Iguana Macks. It was our first show there and it was just awesome. The place was packed right from the start and it stayed that way all night. The staff was awesome and the crowd was a lot of fun. We are happy to say that we will be on rotation there from here on out. We saw a lot of friends which was very cool and we made a lot of new friends. Rich from The Krack Smokin Grannies came out and Stephen from the band, Group Therapy got up and kicked ass on some AC/DC. A bunch of the staff from Cactus Jacks even came out and partied with us. Also, my niece, Jenny came down from Utah to party with a real band. It was just a great night and we really appreciated everyone who showed up. This is going to be a great venue for us!This weekend we are heading west. We will be at Shenanigans both Friday and Saturday nights. We had fun the last time we were there, but didn’t have as a big a crowd as we would have liked. We hope to see more of our west friends there this time. It’s a pretty cool place and the staff is just down right HOT! We have a few new songs to throw at you also. It’s our only trip out to Phoenix this month, so come on out and party with us! The club is on the north side of Bell road and 23 rd Ave. It’s a little hard to spot if your not paying attention, but it is there, right next door to a tire store. May 3 We are soooooooo ready to get back out and play! Two weekends off in a row is two too many! We are also really excited about this club we will be playing at this weekend, Iguana Mack’s. This is going to turn out to be a great venue for us. They have a great base crowd (not much in the way of ugly people either) already and the place gets really busy! They also have a full restaurant and we hear the food is really good. We know that there is going to be a big crowd there this Saturday, between the built in crowd and the people that we know are coming, you may want to get there early to get a decent place to sit. Ed has to take the night off, but says that he will probably be in later in the night to play a few songs. In his absence we have Andy Watts from Innuendo filling in on bass guitar for the evening. Andy is pretty stoked about doing the show and we are also looking forward to playing with him. You can get more information on Andy by visiting their website which is listed on our links page. Come down and support us at a new venue! Next week, we will be on the Westside of town at Shenanigans, both Friday and Saturday nights. We have only played there once before and we are hoping to get more people out this time. We will also have some new songs ready to play by then. We have also got some new bookings at The Waterfront in Chandler. We used to play there and were headed back in July. Check the schedule page often for all show and venue updates. April 25 We had a weekend off, but we decided to get together and go slumming for more clubs. All four of us met at Iguana Macks, had a couple of drinks, including a round the manager bought us. We hung up posters for our show there in a couple of weeks and after we hung out there for awhile, we headed over to another club. We decided to go back into The Waterfront in Chandler and see what was up there and see about maybe coming back there to play. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised that our friends in Legend were playing that night. These guy flat out rock! They do all of the 80”s music the other bands in town can’t do for lack of vocals and keyboards. The were really good, so we had a few drinks and hung out for awhile. We talked to the owner of the bar about coming back and we think that went well also. After we were done there, we headed over to O’Kelley’s to check out our buds in The Krak Smokin Grannies. They were just going on a break when we walked in so we got a chance to shmooze with them for a few minutes and we also saw a few of our friends. They got me for a couple of songs, which was very cool of them and we had a blast. It was really cool to go out as a band and just hang out away from a gig. We all get along really well and it was nice to just be able to talk and hang out together. We are off again this weekend. It kills me to not play one weekend, let along two in a row. We have picked some new songs to learn and we have even started working on a song of our own. No promises as to when that will be ready, but at least were doing it finally! Our next show will be at Iguana Macks and Andy Watts from Innuendo will be filling in on bass guitar that night. It should be a lot of fun and the club is very cool. It’s kinda got a Sugar Daddy’s feel to it, but without Scottsdale. This is our first show there, so come help support at a new club. April 18 I’m sure you all get tired of me praising Blooze all of the time, but it is true. We never have a bad show there! This weekend was exceptional! Friday night was looking like it was going to be slow, but right after we started playing, there was a steady flow of people and it got really busy. Saturday night was packed right from the start. We had a lot of fun and saw a lot of friends both nights. We celebrated Roger (Nascars) birthday on Saturday and he had a blast. People just started dancing and they never stopped! Tumbleweed had been feeling under the weather all week, but even he got up and did a song with us. I want to Thank Melodie and Tina for taking the tip jar around for us. We made a lot in tips and it was thanks to them! Instead of taking breaks with CD’s playing, the band “Pierce” got up and played thru the last two breaks on Saturday. Their new singer did a really good job and everyone seemed to like the fact that it was non-stop, live music for the last 3 hours of the night. The energy level was awesome! The staff was once again outstanding and the band just loved every minute of it. Even Dave, the owner of Hardtailz came out and partied with us! We always look forward to the shows at Blooze and can’t wait for the next one. We have the next two weekends off for some much needed rest. We will be out next Saturday night checking out the scene and scouting some new clubs. Maybe we will see you out there! Keep checking the schedule for new shows and venues. We are constantly trying to find new, cool places to play. Our next show will be at a new venue for us and we are really excited about this one. The place is called “Iguana Macks” and the place is really cool. They are always busy and we are sure we will fit right in. That night Ed will be AWOL, so we recruited Andy from Innuendo to play bass for the night. It should be a lot of fun. Andy is really looking forward to it and we hiope to see you all there. Check the schedule page for a map. April 11 When we left the Valley on Saturday for Flagstaff, it was 75 degrees and sunny. About 40 minutes outside of Flagstaff it started snowing like a bitch! The temperature dropped fast and all of our equipment was in the back of my truck. It snowed on and off the rest of the way, sometimes pretty heavy. We made it to the club and unloaded while our hands froze. We got everything inside and luckily nothing was too wet to plug in. We got set-up, checked in to our hotel rooms and grabbed a bite to eat. The show started out pretty slow, but picked up quite a bit as the night went on. We really appreciate Mike and Tina for coming up from the Valley for the show. They surprised us and we really appreciated them coming all the way up there, just for the show. THANKS GUYS! We are trying to figure out when we will be going back up to Flagstaff for another show. We want to be able to play two nights when we go, so we are looking at another club to play also. We will keep you informed. This weekend we are at home base again……….Blooze! We are always stoked about these shows and we are really looking forward to this weekend. We can always count on Blooze for two great nights. You also never know what Tumbleweed and I might come up with to entertain you. You also never know who may stop by to jam with us. We hope to see you either Friday or Saturday night or even better, both! We will be off the next two weekends, but I'm sure you may see us out stalking other bands or venues. When we return we will be at a new club and we are rev'ed up about this club. Iguana Macks will be our next stop. Ed won't be with us that night, so we have Andy Watts from Innuendo filling in for Ed that night. It should be a lot of fun. This is a great club and we really want to show these guys what an Angry Jon crowd can do when motivated properly, or just drunk, whichever fits best or comes first. I have added a couple of "Polls" to the Bulletin Board (below). Check them out and give us your opinion. April 5 Where were the PAJAMAS? We had a busy night on Friday at Cactus Jacks, but hardly anyone wore pajamas. I guess that was just wrong place to have a PJ Party, but we aren't giving up on the idea. We have had some successful PJ parties in the past and I'm sure we will again. Our next one may be up in Flagstaff in the summer. Thanks to the staff at Cactus Jacks and also the Intrigue girl who gave out a lot of shirts. I tried Intrigue and have to say, it was pretty good. We will be back at Cactus Jacks in May! This Saturday we will be heading up to Flagstaff for another show. This time of year is beautiful up there. It's still a little nippy, but the colors are awesome. We won't be doing any in-studio stuff at The Mountain radio station this trip because Mike is out of town, but he has promised another trip in the studio next time we are up there. The Mogollon Brewing Company is a really cool place to play and we are looking forward to the show. You can get a map off of the website on the schedule page. I will no longer be including the news in my weekly e-mailings. I will just be e-mailing the show dates and reminders every week. That way my e-mails won't be as long and gives everyone another reason to check out the website. March 28 I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We had a great time at Hardtailz and nobody found the eggs that we hid. Of course, we drank too much and forgot that we hid them, so in about a week the bar staff should find them from the smell! We have really come to enjoy playing at Hardtailz. The stage is big the crowds are rowdy. Friday night was a blowout and things started off early. The crowd had a good time and everyone stuck around. We had a smaller crowd on Saturday, but that was expected with Easter being the next day, but it was as much fun as Friday. We goofed off a little more, but that usually leads to a funnier show. Rusty from Whisper Alley came out and sang a few songs as did Will and Jeff from Pierce. We also made a new friend from a band called Hellstar, but I was drunk and cant remember his name, but he sang really good. Were trying to get another show out there in May. This Friday is going to be one of those shows that will be talked about for awhile. Why you ask .PAJAMA PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats right, its here and we hope your ready for this. We havent had one in awhile, so this should great fun. Cactus Jacks has really put their support behind this one and we have a lot of extra things lined up for you. No cover if your wearing Pajamas, drink specials, prizes, twister and the Intrigue Girls! It is going to be a blowout people. This is one show you will not want to miss!!!!! I would recommend you come early or you will not get a good seat. We will be starting at 9:00pm so we can fit everything in that we have planned. Next weekend we will be in Flagstaff at The Mogollon brewing Company, so come up the hill and party with us! March 21 It always amazes me that when our weekends off are coming up, I look forward to them as a chance to relax a little bit. Then the weekend shows up and I feel restless and anxious and want to go play. I guess thats why you sometimes see us out at other bands shows on the weekends that we dont play. At least were in our element and sometimes the band playing gets up for a song or two. Anyway, we dont have to worry about that this weekend. We will be on the Westside once again at what is becoming one of our favorite clubs to play, Hardtailz! We have had some really cool shows out here and we are looking forward to this weekend. We love to see our Westside friends and the way that they remodeled the bar is kick ass. When we first started playing here, people complained about the way the club was laid out, but they have expanded over one more space and put the stage on the other side and really opened the place up. It feels like a rock club now. They are located on 35th Ave and Bell Rd. and we will be there both Friday and Saturday night. I have been getting lots of e-mail about the Pajama Party coming up. I will answer some of those questions right here. The band are the ones who have thought these up and put them on. We have been doing PJ Partys for over three years and every one seems to get a little better than the last. The one we have coming up should be the best one yet. We have great support of the bar and we have more planned for this one. I do believe we will be starting at 9:00pm for this one, so we have enough time to do all of the things we need to do. There are more details on the main page of the website. Just click on the scantily clad girl in the lower right hand corner. March 15 We spent this past weekend at a new club, Shenanigans. It wasnt one of our more stellar weekends, but we had a lot of fun. They have just started having bands there and word is still getting out, but I think they have a good chance of making it work. We want to thank all of you who came out. Nascar and Christine are always there and to Mike, Tina and their crew .You guys rock! The staff was great and I do believe they might be the hottest staff in town! We will be back there in May. We have this weekend off and I plan on spending it with the grandbaby! Paul went off to Mexico fishing, Eds parents are in town and Charlie is uhh, hmm, ummm, well, uhhhhh I think no, uhhh hes ummmm. Ah hell, I have no idea what Charlie does with his free time, but I suspect it has something to do with a can of cheese whiz, a trampoline and duct tape. Youll have to ask him. Next weekend we will be at Hardtailz. This has been a very successful club for us. We are happy to be getting back and look forward to seeing all of our friends we have out there. They are located on 35th Ave. and Bell Rd. PAJAMA PARTY!!!!!!!!!!! Yup, were doing it again. It has been a long, long, long time since our last one and we just felt it was time! This one will be at Cactus Jacks on April 1st and no, its not an April fools day joke. Here are the details .No Cover if your wearing Pajamas or lingerie! $2.00 Cuervo, $2.00 Coronas and $2.00 Purple Hooters! There will prizes for the sexiest pajamas also, $50.00 1st place, $20.00 2nd place and $5.00 3rd place in Cactus Jack Gift Certificates. Your tab for the night could be paid for! We may even have the Pucker Girls there, were not sure yet. Anyway, its going to be a blowout and our Pajama Parties are not to be missed and I might just pull out the Twister game! March 8 After our show on Saturday night, I asked Tumbleweed if we could just play The Blooze every weekend. We had another phenomenal weekend there and it never ceases to amaze me how many shows at Blooze seem to be winners. Blooze never disappoints. Its like that old, comfortable friend who is always glad to see you and shows you a good time, every time! Thanks to Marty from The Wett for singing with us and to our old, old, old friend, Rusty from Whisper Alley for adding some back-ups when they were needed. A huge THANKS to everyone who came out and partied like it meant something. This coming weekend we will be at a new club and that means that we need your support. We will be at Shenanigans in Phoenix, 2244 W. Bell Road. It sounds like a cool place and we really want to show them what Angry Jon and their crowd can do when properly motivated. No matter what happens, it will be a good time, as always! Just a reminder to check out all areas of the website and please let us know what you think by signing the bulletin board. I think there is a good opportunity to get some interesting thoughts and comments going between people. There are actually some very potentially funny and interesting topics on there now that very well could bloom into a beautiful flower. O.K., maybe not, but I see some potential for a little trouble. March 1 Cactus Jacks is always good to us, and
this past Friday wasn't any different. We had a blast, even though I
on the verge of coughing every time I sang, the night was a lot of fun.
We got to see a lot of friends we hadn't seen in awhile. Jimmy from
Whisper Alley got and jammed a couple of songs on the bass guitar. We
help celebrate Angela's birthday and we got to see a few friends that
we hadn't seen in awhile. We will be back there in April. This weekend
we go home! Were back at Blooze and I have been looking forward to these
shows since New Years Eve. We have a lot of places that we play, that
treat us really well and I'm grateful to them all, but Blooze is our
longest standing club and it is just my favorite place to play. Tumbleweed
is the coolest club owner and we always just have amazing shows there.
We haven't been there in 2 months, so this should be a great weekend.
We will be on the west side of town for pretty much all of March, just
check the schedule for locations and dates. We do have one show at The
Vine in Ahwatukee booked on March 19th, but we need to make sure it
is still a good date. Just keep an eye on the website and schedule for
any changes or updates. February 21 What was that children's rhyme? Rain, Rain go away and don't ever f***king come back. (Yeah, that's it) I know we needed the rain, but enough already. If I wanted weather like this I would have stayed in Utah or moved to Seattle. This is the wettest winter that I can remember in the 18 years I have lived here. I know I shouldn't complain, pretty soon we'll all be complaining about it being too hot, but complaining is one of the things I do best. We had a lot of fun on Saturday night at O'Kelley's. Even with the bad weather we still had a pretty good turnout. I would like to thank Dave from Live Kysus for getting up and singing a tune. Aubrey, formerly of "Tunesmith" got up and played a few songs on bass guitar. We also saw Scott from "68Guns" and Sam from "Legend" in the crowd. It's cool to get support from members of other local bands. Thanks to everyone who came out and partied it up with us. We appreciate all of your support. This Friday we will be at Cactus Jacks, one of our FAV's, as you know, this is one of our rotating clubs. We really like playing there. The new owners are good guys and the staff is always on the ball and Dallas just plain rocks! After this show, we pretty much head to the Westside of town for the month on March, with one show in Ahwatukee. Check the schedule to see where we will be. February 14 Before I get into things, I just want to say something about The Grammy's that were on Sunday night. It's about time they paid a little more attention to Rock & Roll! It was nice to not be inundated with just rap and pop artists. It was the first one in years that I actually enjoyed and my new hero is Melissa Etheridge. YOU GO BALDYLOCKS!!!! We all made it back safe from a very fun trip up the hill. It was raining and snowing at the same time most of the time, but we had a blast. The clubs staff was great and we want to thank everyone who came out to the show and braved the crappy weather. We want to send out the biggest thanks to Mike Menter from 93.3 "The Mountain" radio station. Check him out at www.kmgn.com He has been very gracious and has gone out of his way to be supportive of our efforts in Flagstaff. Mike, you're the best!!! He had us in the studio Saturday afternoon and was very patient when one of us was running very late. It went well and he recorded it for us to be able to put up on the website. We videotaped it also, so our video and his recording will be dubbed together for what should be a very cool clip on the website very soon. We will be back in Flagstaff in April. This Saturday we will be back at O'Kelley's. This is always a good club for us and the staff is great. We haven't played anywhere in the Valley for a month. We hope your all ready for us to get back at it. We have some new songs ready to go and look forward to seeing everyone again. We have two shows this month on the Eastside and then it's off to the Westside for almost all of March. We have some great shows coming up and are still trying to add some new venues. February 7 We had a pretty productive couple of weeks off. We found some new clubs and learned some new songs. We got to hang out together while we were club hunting and even managed to see a couple of friend's bands. Paul went to Mexico and they actually let him back into the country. Ed had a birthday and I managed to have a grandkid. Charlie just went to work and home everyday, but I think he took a different route home one of those days. But, we are all looking forward to playing again. This Saturday we will be at The Mogollon Brewing Company in Flagstaff. We are really looking forward to heading out of town and playing again. If I go more than just a few days without playing, I start going thru withdrawals. The club is great and there is a really cool atmosphere. "The Mountain" radio station, in particular, DJ Mike, has been very supportive of us. I will be doing a call-in interview on Friday morning and then the band will be going into the studio on Saturday to do a couple of live songs and interview that we will be recording to put on the website. (Look out Mike! Angry Jon's going to take over your studio!!!) We will also be celebrating Ed's B-Day while we are up there! Keep an eye on the schedule. We have added some more dates and a couple of new clubs as well. We have learned some new songs and have more in the kitty to learn over the next few weeks. We are trying really hard to keep the website interesting and hope that you agree. Let us know what you think by signing the "Bulletin Board". It's there for you guys and we love to see what you have to say. I don't think you need to register to sign it either. Take a look and let us know what you're thinking. February 1 It really is weird to take so much time off. I can't remember the last time we had three of four weekends off completely. We have been out there trying to get some new clubs in the arsenal. We have visited quite a few and have picked up a few along the way and a few more pending. We want to be sure they are places worth our time and yours. We may try some and drop them after one show and some will become a regular club on our rotation. Either way, it has been great hanging out with the other guys in the band and seeing what other bands are doing. That's the one thing that we miss with playing so much, is checking out our friends in their bands and just hanging out. The time off has given me time to get over the pneumonia and get this cough under control. That was just luck that I got sick during a long break. We have also learned some new songs during this time. We have a few more in the kitty that we will be learning over the next few weeks, so keep an ear out for that. There are also some songs we have completely dropped of the list, but we doubt they will be anything you will miss. Our next show is at The Mogollon Brewing Company in Flagstaff. We had a great show there the last time and we expect the same this time. We have had some great support from the club and the local rock station up there, in particular DJ Mike. He is the morning DJ on the Mountain and is a really cool guy. I will be doing a radio interview with him on the Friday before the show and the band will be going into the studio to do some live stuff that Saturday afternoon before the show. Check the schedule page for the address and directions. In February we will also be back at O'Kelley's and Cactus Jacks. The Egomaniacs will also be doing a show at The Vine in Ahwatukee. We will be back on the west side in a big way in March .Blooze, Hardtailz, Senanigans and a show at The Vine(Ahwatukee) thrown in there also. Check the schedule on the website for dates and other information. January 24 Two nights, two great crowds! Thanks to everyone who made it out this past weekend to Cactus Jacks and O'Kelley's. We had a blast and it looked like you did also. The dance floor was hopping all weekend and we really love that. It makes things that much more fun when everyone is in high gear! We will back to both club next month, just check the schedule. We will be off the next two weekends, which is very rare for us, but we will still be doing band related things. On Saturday night we will all be out checking out new clubs and other bands and just hanging out together. We don't ever get the chance to that, so were taking advantage while we can. We have picked a bunch of new songs to learn and will be working on some of those over the next 3 weeks. You should also notice some new dates and Venues going up on the schedule page. Our next show will be at the Mogollon Brewing Company in Flagstaff on Saturday, Feb. 12th. We are looking forward to this show. It is a great club and we had a blast the last time we were there. We will hopefully be doing an on-air radio spot with our buddy DJ Mike of the Mountain. He has been very supportive of our band and has even come down to the valley to see us. We know of quite a few people who are going up to see us to spend some time in the snow during the day and then at night, head over to Mogollon for their world famous fresh brewed beer and the warm, beautiful sounds of Angry Jon. Address and directions are on the schedule page of the website. January 18 The band had the weekend off and we made the best of it. We had new pictures done and Saturday night we were on the prowl for new clubs to play. We actually had a great time hanging out with each other and we did find a couple of new clubs to play. Keep an eye on the schedule page for those new venues. We have plans to go out a few more times in search of a few more clubs and also just to see what's going on with other bands and bars. We actually ran into a few friends while we were out and that's always a great bonus. We also get to talk to people and mingle in a way that we don't get to do when we are playing. This weekend we have two shows for you. On Friday night we will be back at Cactus Jacks in Ahwatukee. We keep having big night here and I'm sure this time won't disappoint. They now have food and it is really good, so you can just stop in for dinner there also. On Saturday night we will be back at O'Kelley's. It has been a couple of months since our last show there and are looking forward to getting back there. We always have great fun when we play there. These shows will mark another break for us. We will be off for the next two weekends and our next show will be up in Flagstaff at the Mogollon Brewing Company on February 12th. If you can get out of town for a night or want to spend some time in the snow, this is a great club. They have some awesome beer and the atmosphere is really cool also. It's a great chance to get out of town and have some fun! While we are on break, we will be learning about 10 new songs to throw into the rotation. We are trying to keep things interesting for everyone and keep the shows as fresh as possible. We are even talking about writing a few songs. It's something we have never really been interested in doing, but we feel the time is right and we'll see what comes of it. I just don't want to put something out there that's crap. If we come up with something we like and we think you will like, you all will be the first to know. So, keep your ears open. January 11 Well, it was an interesting weekend. Friday nights show was a blast and the club was packed. Paul couldn't be at the show on Saturday, so our buddy's from The Egomaniacs came down to fill in and Charlie learned the songs that we do in that band. I was pretty sick and really couldn't sing at all. It was a rough night, but I want to thank a few people. Steve and John from Ego, Charlie for learning the songs and really doing a great job, The guy's from Pierce for filling up about a half hour and Joe Brennan who sang a few songs for me and ended up getting whatever it is that I have. Also thanks to Tracey and Paul and Scott from Live Krysus for playing a few songs. It means a lot to me that so many people were willing to step up to help out. We are off this weekend, but will be back at the following weekend at Cactus Jacks and O'Kelley's. We will then be off for two more weeks. We are going to be learning new songs during the upcoming break and taking care of some personal and band business. We are also getting new pictures done for posters and the website, so keep an eye out for them. The pictures won't be what you would expect from us. Keep checking the website for updates and new show dates. Also, make sure you check out the bulletin board and let us know what your thinking. Were trying very hard to give you as much to look at as possible on the site and we really want to know what you think. |
